First time I’ve really messed with this so yep
I mapped all Primary and Secondary schools in the Corozal District according to this list by the Ministry of Belize.
A great team effort to map missing residential buildings in Germany was recently concluded. Many motivated mappers worked together to add 360,000 buildings all over Germany.
If you’d like to take part in the next round, come join the party at
➡️ MapRoulette: Add buildings in Germany!
Background
This mapping effort began when populated areas in Germany were identified that had neither buildings nor residential land use mapped. A MapRoulette challenge was set up and 14,330 new land use areas and 17,440 buildings were mapped in only 43 days. You can read about the details in my previous blog post MapRoulette: Unmapped residential areas in Germany.
This blog post is about the second round that started afterwards in January 2021.
Procedure
The idea was to find residential or farm yard areas without any buildings. These should contain buildings for sure, or the land use information should be corrected. (Later it turned out that farmyards without fixed buildings are legitimate.)
To this end I imported the Germany dump of OSM into a PostGIS database while already filtering for the desired land use and building types. In PostGIS I spatially intersected the buildings with the land use polygons and removed all land use areas which touched any building.

Hey guys, i am looking for a high definition satellite map, which is free and has a very high resolution. I saw some chargeable maps with a 8cm resolution. But is there something similiar on the open source market?
Thanks!

There are some users who register an account and then wait a few years before making their first edit. But this is the longest period, which I stumbled upon when browsing https://welcome.osm.be/ :
Registered in 2009-12-04, first edit 2021-11-06.
Who will give more? :)
I copied the outline of another roundabout on bass and put it on where it is. Sadly, I cannot yet get accurate GPS tracks. I implore anyone who can get those tracks and post them publicly or trace them out yourself. There are also some other need items like advised speed limit, join and exit roads, give way signs, and lane attributions as the minimum. But for the time being, I just want it to be mapped at least.

Yesterday, November 8, the event Local Community Building at OSM: Tips, Tricks and Challenges was held, organized by the Hotosm Community Working Group for Spanish-speaking OpenStreetMap communities.
As in any event worth its salt, there is a Document -in Spanish- with the notes on the presentations, conversations and chats, in addition to the video, of course (the video is -again- in Spanish).
I used the aforementioned document to make a live tweeting of the event from the @esopenstreetmap Twitter account, and then it occurred to me to make a thematic summary of the event based on the same notes, in order to facilitate the generation of future actions by the leaders of the communities. That summary is what I present in this post.
Topic Brief: Building Local Community in OSM

It’s great to see Users doing OSM editing for Humanitarian use. I live in a Highlands area prone to Frost, and droughts for longer period causing havoc to communities.
I hope to see Relief agencies using our OSM Maps for providing assistance during time odf disaster. Thankyou you OSM, if it hadn’t been your key role in providing open-sourced maps, I don’t think Government agencies will be willing to provide maps to its citizens during times of great need.
Government agencies and Departments don’t provide maps readily and would often come at cost which some can not really access it readily for their use.
I really appreciate the effort by the Developers of OSM and the selfless devotion in creating new features for all Mappers around the world to work on this vital platform for common good for humanity.
Thanks all and happy mapping form Papua New Guinea.

TrackExplorer
TrackExplorer is a solution based on the idea of RaceDirector. The difference is that with TrackExplorer you can use any GPX file - with or without timestamps. You can choose different activities and no matter where on earth you have recorded GPX data, the data can be displayed in an 3D environment.
TrackExplorer Quick Overview
Via the website TrackExplorer Upload you can easily upload any GPX file. If your GPX file does not have a timestamp, you can decide during the upload the speed your data should be displayed in TrackExplorer. This is necessary if you create the GPX file with a route planner – in most cases there are no timestamps available. TrackExplorer offers different activity categories. Depending on your selection, your uploaded GPX data will be displayed with your chosen activity.
