The OSMF board started a survey of the OSM community and in tradition from previous surveys i wanted to publish my answers here. However as the title indicates already i did not actually participate in the survey this time because in most of the eight main questions i did not feel like the form of the survey gave me the ability to accurately answer the question. And answering the questions is mandatory, i could not participate in the survey without answering them. Therefore i decided to refrain from submitting answers which would in the majority of the question not have correctly represented my view on the question.
I will explain why that is the case and what my answers actually are in the following.
Just to avoid any misunderstandings - just because i did not submit the survey does not mean i suggest to anyone else to not do so either. On the contrary, if you feel like you can articulate your view on the questions in the survey in a meaningful manner then you should do so.

I already commented at length on the so called Diversity Statement issued by the OSMF board and the Committee created in that context. But the question is not about the Diversity Statement (which is not even mentioned in the notes for the question) but about the creation of the committee and about tasking the LCCWG with recommending a response to a recently published pamphlet critical of the OSM community.

Der FOSSGIS wird voraussichtlich im März seine Mitgliederversammlung veranstalten - dieses Jahr natürlich virtuell - was ich ungeachtet der oft durchaus netten Atmosphäre, die auf FOSSGIS-Versammlungen traditionell herrscht, für eine gute Entwicklung halte, da sie deutlich mehr Leuten, insbesondere auch aus der OSM-Community, die Chance gibt, daran teilzunehmen.
Für die Mitgliederversammlung möchte ich hiermit, diesmal aus Gründen, die ich erläutern werde, schon deutlich im voraus, meinen traditionellen Bericht als Vertreter des FOSSGIS im Advisory-Board der OSMF geben.
Dieser Bericht fällt dieses Jahr sehr knapp aus, denn wie schon im letzten Jahr erwähnt, ist das Advisory-Board der OSMF als Ganzes so gut wie tot. Der Vorstand konnte sich bis jetzt nicht dazu aufraffen, das Gremium tatsächlich offiziell zu schließen, aber seit der OSMF-Vorstand mit den Firmenvertretern im Advisory-Board regelmäßig nicht öffentliche Gespräche führt, hat im Advisory-Board als Ganzem nichts mehr von Substanz stattgefunden.

Le département de l’Allier a repassé, fin 2020, l’ensemble de ses routes départementales de 80 à 90 km/h.
Au fur et à mesure des modifications effectuées :
- passage de maxspeed=80 à maxspeed=90 des routes départementales concernées et éligibles
- ajout, pour raison historique, d’un deuxième attribut pour montrer que pendant la période allant du 1er juillet 2018 (entrée en vigueur sur toutes les routes à double sens sans séparateur central) au 10 décembre 2020 (veille de l’entrée en vigueur des 90 km/h sur les RD de l’Allier) qui est : maxspeed:2018-07-01–2020-12-10=80
- si un seul sens, ajout de :forward ou :backward après maxspeed

So this one I think is very odd.. coincidental? But here it is, on a hillside. at least 10 figures, side by side, in plain view.. All ten have elongated heads which includes a mother with child. I tried to be as faithful as I could be simply tracing but when I got the the mother, I saw an etching, positively a bearing hand and a lower hand. There are at least two Sharman and an Alien. I am reviewing the site again, as I think there are at least three more hidden elongated heads tucked along side.
There are a few trails leading up to the side from the south. Ill be indicating those as well. .

Please be aware that the Persian (Farsi) translation is 100% machine translation, via Microsoft Translator. There will be errors, but I hope not serious mistranslations that make the survey impossible to understand. If you can help with editing the Persian translation, please message me.

So what do you do when you are carefully floating around the Nazca valleys, and you see a horse head, then the horse, and with much surprise an upside down rider is seemingly being thrown from it. After then drawing it, as remarkable as it might be, you then see a beak.. pointing north, connected to birds head and then a bird, with a claw.
Deep down you think its a coincidence, but then, is it? The shapes reflect that discovery you’ve been kind of watching for the last few months following these.
Geometric trapezoids near any area, some conspicuous others not so much. Not all have to be razor sharp, and even that might unlock yet another glyph.

The location of the Lounging Cat is on a hill, graphically pinpointed by Nazca lines. On the eastern side of the hill lays a figure of a cat, semi incomplete and approximately 75M long by 30M high. The cat is positioned in a north / south orientation.
Due to much of this geoglyph being washed away, the shape of the lounging cat object was drawn in using framed in landmarks and then through interpolation worked in.
UNESCO has recently built a viewing platform which includes foot paths to parking areas.

Naksha 2021 - a national level Mapathon organized by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University’s NSS Cell, is a one week mapping party that aims at the learning and understanding of the OpenStreetMap (OSM) among people and at creating a free editable map with data that all can access. Programme is organized by Government Engineering College Wayanad (Unit no: 168 & 263), Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Engineering Kasaragod (Unit no:179 & 683), College of Engineering and Management Punnapra (Unit no:558 & 630).

When I intended wanted to map housenumbers in my area, I found out about the app “Keypad-Mapper 3”. This seems like the most efficient way to map housenumbers, as it is designed for that purpose.
However, after downloading (from F-droid archive repository), I found out that it didn’t work. The app had not been updated in 7 years, so no wonder that was to case. Luckily however, online I found a fork of Keypad-Mapper 3 with hungarian translations which worked.
After doing one giant survey with this app, however, I quickly realised how much of a pain it can become to try and clean up the raw data in JOSM. GPS data isn’t really the most accurate thing, and therefore the positions of housenumber nodes (which are based on your GPS position) collected from Keypad Mapper isn’t that accurate either.
This survey took me multiple weeks and multiple changesets to clean up. It was a mess.
I then started to look for alternatives: Streetcomplete seemed like the best option and I did a few surveys with it. However, mapping housenumbers wasn’t the most efficient thing on this app. So I opened a issue on Streetcomplete’s Github repository to try and improve the app. This lead to a increment button which adds/substracts one number from the previous housenumber you entered.
This was quite useful, but it doesn’t work for both sides of the road. Streetcomplete housenumber mapping also requires that you have drawn buildings first, which can be tedious (here is my diary entry explaining how to speed it up slightly).
Then, I heard about OSMpad. This is an old application which is no longer available. However, I liked the design. OSMpad starts up as a map: you then add a housenumber on the map when surveying.
This would obviously lead to cleaner and more accurate data compared to Keypad Mapper, and would not require adding building data.

In the last few days I have inserted street names in villages that have not yet entered their street names, I have noticed that many villages are still with their street names blank and therefore I am entering street names according to the street names layer.

We are happy to share the draft OSM Philippines’ Code of Conduct (CoC) made for and written by the OSM Philippines community members. It is now available for review and comments!
Based from the response on the Miro Board Workshop during Pista ng Mapa 2020, we categorized the “Expected Behavior” into four:
- Be Respectful
- Be open and constructively critical
- Be Inclusive
- Put the community first, but still prioritize our health
Other topics and questions that we want to consult with the OSM PH community stands: - What should be the consequences of violating the OSM PH CoC? - How do we approve the CoC? - How do we ensure that it is enforced? (One thing that comes to mind is to have an open feedback mechanism/form for members to express criticisms or report violation which should be managed by a committed group of people) - And many more…

I’ve been working on normalizing opening hours values, to make them more standard for all parsers to understand them.
I’m using KOpeningHours in the Osmose plugin which detects invalid values. And then I’m using it again to fix the Osmose warnings, in OpeningHoursFixer. This tool shows me before/after values for every field being fixed, so I can manually verify that the change makes sense, before it gets submitted.
I just noticed messages about some issues with these changes, such as source=survey, which is a bug. I’ll fix that.
