Changeset When Comment

Hello.
Instead of outright deleting a closed biz, it's much better to use proper lifecycle tags. Doing that not only preserves a history of that object, but still allows that address to be searchable and routable.

In this edit too alt_name_1= and all the other tags you created are invalid. "_1" style tags should never be created.

Hello.
Please note that any "_1", "_2", etc tags are always wrong to use. They should never be used.
osm.wiki/Names documents many different types of name tags you can use. Or if nothing there matches, you can simply add the name using the existing alt_name tag separating them with ;
This needs to be fixed.

In my opinion tiger:* tags shouldn't be added or updated at all. They are leftovers of a decade old streets import and are not used for anything else. If anything, they should be deleted...

Hello.
"Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvement Project" doesn't seem like a correct name of this road segment. A name of a construction project is not the name of a street..

Hello.
"13W" doesn't seem like a proper name of this feature. It's fine to use it as a ref= tag.
Please correct.

Hello.
Please do not create new tiger:* tags. Tiger tags are leftovers from road data import over a decade ago. They tags are not used for anything.

Please note, as documented on phone=*#Usage, phone numbers should be separated either with - or space.

Alright, this changeset has been reverted.👍

Hello.
Your edit contains a number of significant problems and they must be corrected otherwise this edit will be fully reverted.
For no apparent reason you deleted a bunch of tags from a Starbucks in Chicago.
In almost every single entry you provided a malformed phone number. Phone numbers MUST always include a country dialing code (in US it's +1) and numbers must be separated only by - or space. They must not contain ( or ) symbols. It is documented in phone=*#Usage
When you add feature names they should be fully spelled out, not be abbreviated. "RCFL" must be expanded into its full meaning. If you want to add "RCFL" name you can also add short_name= tag, but name= tag must be corrected regardless. You can read more about this on osm.wiki/Abbreviations

In Texas you deleted building=yes tag for no apparent reason.

Hello.
Please note that when you enter building height, if you don't specify the units, it's assumed to be meters. This building is 110 feet, not 110 meters. That's a huge difference. :)

Additionally, when entering street names, they should be fully spelled out. Don't abbreviate Avenue into "Ave".

This just stinks of SEO keyword stuffing. 🫤I could that would go into the official_name= tag?
But that seems more like a slogan rather than a name.

And if you want to update brand-related tags, this would need to be updated https://nsi.guide/index.html?t=brands&k=tourism&v=hotel&tt=waldorf#waldorfastoria-665f74

152003498

When you modified the name, iD suggested that it needs to be changed back, correct? That is happening because the name you wanted to add does not match what's in the wikidata database. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1123997

152012504

Hello.
When updating old business to a new one, it's much better to update the existing node/point to contain the current information, instead of deleting the old one and creating a new one.
Updating the existing node preserves history of that object, which might be useful to refer to in the future. But if you delete+create, that history gets deleted too.

The fields are locked because that feature has wikidata tag attached.
However you can make edits to other tags without deleting wikidata simply by scrolling down and editing them in the "Tags" section.

"A Small Luxury Hotel" does not belong in a POI name tag.
