I moved the "Hangzhou Shi" China node from way out in the mountains south of town to the middle of West Lake which is a Hangzhou landmark. This way you will at least see Hangzhou within the screen when you search for it (assuming the database updates per my edit which it might do tomorrow, Thursday, January 15, 2009 [but it did not]).

Why is the "Hangzhou Shi" node out in the mountains?
The satellite photo (only shows when you are in edit mode) clearly shows the "Hangzhou Shi" node is incorrectly located -- nothing but mountains there.

I've finished adding data for the GPS traces I made over Christmas, near Mullumbimby. The forest road to Uki now is shown, as are more streets and roads on the west of Mullum, and McAuley's Lane on the south east.

The data from my cycle trip south is also entered, from Lismore along the Kyogle Road and Naughtons Gap Road. There's some tidy-up required there - the street names at each end of the section in Lismore and Casino, and the exact location of the Railway Bridge may not be as shown, but I'm in Sydney now, so it'll have to wait until next Christmas or until someone else can fix it. It's hard to concentrate on making maps when dehydration sets in, so I plead extenuating circumstances in not getting it correct this time around :)

There's also a heap of creek crossings along Upper Wilson's Creek Road and along Main Arm Road that I didn't get around to marking. The more I look at the little I've done, the more I wish I had more time around that area to do a proper job.

Mapnik at zoom 6 and lower now displays country names (set on nodes in the database). Sometimes, especially in central Africa, these are positioned wrong though. Please help in moving these nodes to the right position.

I did São Tomé and Príncipe, Saint Helena, Tunisia and Egypt for now.

Danke Schreck
