Boy, no one cares about Mozambique! Just compare it with neighboring Tanzania... I added a long route from the Moçambique's border with Tanzania to the border with Zimbabwe...

I've connected up the main road through Bosra and added a few streets in the town along with POIs for some of the main historic highlights of the town.
I've tried to put some of the "pedestrian" roads of the old Roman town, based on GPS tracks from both me and a friend.
I'll be heading back to Bosra a few times so will try and fill in the gaps and add a few street names.
As a general note, it would be really useful if people added both the English and Arabic in the generic names in the Middle East, otherwise these maps are only any use to Arabic readers (since I've not seen a way to filter the language on OSM yet, although I'm sure it's possible!).

I upload GPS tracks.... trace over them with roads tracks.... they appear on the map a few days later..... then a few days after that get deleted......
Today I tried to reverse the one-way restriction on duke's road. With limited success.
Completed M-501 road in Madrid, Spain, between Brunete and Navas del Rey based on multiple round-trip GPS tracks. The result is biased towards the right lane instead of the center of the road, but I don't know what the policy is for that.
Finally finished the little patch of emptiness in Nudgee. I went around today and traced the area with my laptop & GPS. Got a few bus stops and tried my hand at footpaths, cycleways, benches, parks, water bodies and water fountains. It's surprisingly easy with Potlatch — I don't have JOSM on my machine at the moment.
I started putting in the cycle way that follows the road out to Nudgee. I put in the areas I know for sure just follow the road, and Ill expand on them later. I was going to do it tonight, but my laptop totally died for some reason. It's reinstalling as we speak.
It's been a good day for Open Street Mapping.

Minor roads around Corsham. Charles St, etc.
Whilst at a meeting last night I realised I was in an easily accessible yet unmapped part of the city, and so returned after lunch to try and map it all. It was a larger area with more densely packed roads than I imagined in the dark, but still I've made a start and can return on Wednesday afternoon when I'm next due in that part of town.
Cheap batteries are not worth the cost savings - the no-name AAA batteries I took with me as I was rushing out the house turned out not to work. Luckily I've taken to hiding spare batteries in places I frequent, people get confused when you ask to use the batteries they didn't know they had but it means they stay unused for emergencies such as today.
I need to get round to either fixing or replacing my bike before spring, there are plenty of open street bugs around the area which I can't be bothered visiting on-foot but which could all be quickly closed by bike. Plus if I'm to cycle to Turkey this summer...
New camera would also be good, probably selling my good one and getting a cheap Canon. That way it's small and doesn't look expensive, yet with CHDK it'd be better quality than my current one.
Finally, on the way home - lorry breaks down on side of highway=primary, blocking access to highway=residential but not much else. Two police cars turn up to see what's happening, park across highway=primary and thereby cause access=no, leading to traffic tailback for some distance around the ringroad. Hmm, maybe I think in OSM tags too much...
We're going about surveying and mapping our home town of Pelayos de la Presa, in SW Madrid. It's a good excuse to keep up with our new year's resolution to walk for an hour every other day :-)
I took some data in Kallangur and Murrumba Downs yesterday using my phone's voice recorder and my laptop in the car.
It was great, I got lots of street names as well as an entire new development that hasn't been mapped yet unfortunately my mapping software stored the logs in /tmp/ by default which was wiped next boot, so I've lost everything. Unfortunately my gps software crashed toward the end, so I think I lost about half an hour of data, and got really grumpy before packing it in for the day. TangoGPS has been freezing up quite a bit since I switched back to Ubuntu from Debian, so I'll have to work that out before I can do much more.
I've also been looking out for a new GPS unit of my very own. I found yesterday that I can use pretty much any Bluetooth GPS with my mobile phone, and got really excited. I don't have to have to cart a massive great hand held unit of my own around the place after all.
So with renewed vigour I've been looking around for Bluetooth devices. I came across the Freedom Keychain GPS 2000 and fell in love with it. It looks like it'll be a silver bullet. You can read my blog post or the Manufacturers page for more info, but I'm interested to hear from anyone from here who might be using one. What configuration do you use? What software? Is it as good as everyone says?
Other than that, I've been pretty lax on the OSM front, and haven't really had the opportunity to do anything extra. I'm not yet confident enough to run about mapping on foot, and fuel's still too expensive for me to justify mapping that way too often. I'm confident with a mobile solution I'll be a lot more likely to get out there and map on the go.
Pedestrian deck is popular in japan. There are many pedestrian decks on the next to stations.
There are good exprenations on wikipedia such as
List of pedestrian deck in Japan.
I tried yesterday to get track data in front of Omiya station, which is famous with its pedestrian deck.
You can see photos by google search, such as these using keyword "ペデストリアンデッキ"
fix links.. thank you for comment
I just found out about OpenStreetMap about 3 weeks ago, and the whole project has me completely psyched. I'd love to get a GPS that can upload data so I can map some trails in my home state of Maine, but that's a project for the summer.
In the meantime, I'm taking it upon myself to map all of the buildings, shops, and POIs in Andover, Massachusetts and nearby Phillips Academy (where I am a student) by the end of this school year. I'll do this mostly through Potlatch tracing Yahoo Imagery combined with my knowledge of the area, as I don't have a GPS, and JOSM won't work with the WMS plugin on Ubuntu. (If anyone has that working, could they please update the HowTo on the wiki? Thanks.) I'll also see if the school will let me use some real maps of the campus, but that is yet to be determined. Work is going pretty steadily - I have a fairly complete map of the campus and its buildings, and have just started on the town itself. I also cleaned up a nasty mess just to the northeast of Andover of ~25,000 duplicate nodes. (A big thank you to the author of the Validator plugin in JOSM!) So here's hoping for good luck and a successful 2009.
Straßennamen usw folgen in naher Zukunft. Erst will ichs halbwegs fertig zeichnen!
This is my first contribution to OSM.
Just added and corrected some street names in Mafra, Portugal.
