2018: I led a project that was awarded a HOT Microgrant to develop Territorial Arrangements Plans in rural areas together with local governments and communities, overcoming many challenges and learning valuable lessons.
2017: Start the program Social and Community cartographers with OSM And open software tools in Partnership with an NGO. I design the gamificación methodology call Pioneers Program and during this year I work in workshops with three main groups between farmers(countryside) people, indigenous people, and social managers in some of the most representatives places of post-conflict in Colombia.
2016: I meet the OpenStreetMap Foundation in Colombia #FOSM and the Humanitarian Mapping Unit #UMH, I began to work with them, my expertise in graphic design and anthropology help me to address the areas in which I can contribute.
- At the same time I meet the tool Tupale.co that allow create maps with information that looks like pretty close to what I’ve been looking build and I begun to participated updating the interface, the user experience, the layout, applying my acquired knowledge in HTML, CSS and javascript, learning PHP because this tool is built in this language.
2015: I work with Javascript community in Medellín co-organizing the main meetup and JsConf conference in Colombia for two years and leading a group designed for empower women and give them trust to embrace the challenge of participating proactively in traditionally male sectors and groups.
- During this period I advocated value mapping of subjective and creative production communities. Mapping places for workshops, numbers of members in the community, new jobs thanks to the networking, hours of workshops, amount of volunteering working, presentation inventory, this kind of mapping give me tools to understand how to address assessment of communities, volunteering, and collective intelligence.
2014: Medellín city_ I begin to study computer programing in an immersive boot camp, thinking about how to make maps, mixed with community information timelines, agendas and data in general. I start with JavaScript looking forward with leaflet library, D3 for visualization and Ruby for applications.
2013: Darien Caribe region_ in the frontier with Panamá I work with a platform in Ushahidi inside a project call RedCaribe http://intermundos.org/es/red-caribe I do workshops with locals to use the platform but was really difficult to reach the understanding of the whole idea for the local people especially for having little to no tech-savviness.
2010: Medellín city_I began to study anthropology to understand more the work with the communities and find a support group. I found it in the Environment and Society Research group at Antioquia University.
2009: I work making the inventory (natural resources, main actors, etc, around the zone in the DarienCaribe area in the borderline with Panamá. I work with social cartography and processing with vector design programs to build the eco-tourism maps.
2009: Darien Caribe region_I work 2 years with the community in different projects with the invitation of two eco-tourism entrepreneurs.
2008: June I travel to a remote area to make the signposting of factories. I work with maps made in vectors with Illustrator from a printed copy.
2008: Graphic Designer Practice with a Multinational Company in the marketing department they have needs for floor plans, I build it with vector design programs.
2006: I begin to work with communities for the first time, in the electronic music scenes in Medellín with 3 collectives. INVAZION, Discos Cocinados and MedellinStyle, and with two producer agency’s Elabel and MediaPlus Agency this was the first time I think and do a proposal, a platform for visualized, centralized, promote and project communities work. In this year like graphic designer, I had skills for design and not for programming. I called the platform MusicIsTheKey
