I disagree I think the buildings, escalators, ticket machines, bike lockers, platforms etc. -- infrastructure built in the immediate surroundings of the station -- all belong within the station area. Kind of like a landuse=* IMO.

Your changes look good to me. Thanks, and welcome to OpenStreetMap!

Is this different from @The%20Cleaning%20Authority%20Olympia and node/13594814843? Why did you create a new account?

This looks good to me, except that abbreviated names should generally be expanded: "Ste" -> "Suite" and "Ct NE" -> "Court Northeast". This is because computers find it easier to abbreviate full names for display purposes, whereas it becomes much more ambiguous when a user of OpenStreetMap data wants the full name. "St" could be "Street" or "Saint," and so on. You get the idea.

But that's a minor bit of feedback. Thanks for the contribution; I really appreciate it.

The entire complex has a single address? Or does 20225 refer to the leasing office, etc.?

Thanks

Thanks. Phone number format for the US in OpenStreetMap is like +1-425-892-8996 instead of what you added.

Also be aware that you tagged the opening hours as 11a-10p 7 days a week. This is fine; I just wanted to make sure this is indeed the same time every day. You could consider making the fact that this time is valid all days more explicit by doing something like "Mo-Su 11:00-22:00" instead--but again the way you've done it here is fine.

Otherwise, thanks for the contributions! We're always glad to have another member of the mapping community!

We want to have your business on the map, but in addition to the spam warning sent by the bot above regarding description=*, there are more issues with the following tags you added:

* addr:street=*
* opening_hours=*
* phone=*

Also it seems that this falls more under the category of plumbing than of janitorial work, so I updated craft=plumber as well.

Again, we appreciate you addition to the map, but please read the documentation before adding details in whatever format you'd like. I fixed this for you, but be warned that other volunteer mappers would not have been as kind.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the contributions. Please note that the name=* tag is almost exclusively for names that are written on a sign—they are not just a "label" for a map feature, because OpenStreetMap data is used for purposes beyond simply displaying general-purpose basemaps. Perhaps you meant to map the "yurt" building as building=ger instead? I've updated that, but let me know if it's not the case. Thanks, and happy mapping!

Yeah it's in the relation but it feels very much like part of the "train stop" over there too-- if we're going to include the 23rd ave entrance and its pathway to the platform within the station way, then I feel like the Rainier entrance and pathway should be in as well.

180563229

Aah! How did I miss those!? Thanks :)

179725885

No problem. Given that the little segment is not a driveway (per your change), I assume this must be designated 103rd and have updated as such. But I have not visited the area and the county map still doesn't reflect this change. Thanks for your help on this!

180517117

Shouldn't it include the B entrances on Rainier?

180330117

I think destination=* is the right tag for this; roads generally shouldn't be tagged with names unless there's a sign alongside the road reading "NB Off-Ramp to Clark Rd"-- rather, these roads are described by the destination roads they link to.

I did some more work on this area, let me know how it looks.

180170112

Cool, thanks! Yeah sometimes stuff like that happens in OSM, where some regions are very specific about how to tag stuff, sometimes in contradiction with other regions. Really any user of the data is going to have to do standardization/parsing, but we do try to make it as consistent as possible on our end.

Happy mapping!

180170112

Thanks! one minor note is that the consensus is to use all hyphens in OpenStreetMap for phone numbers, so like +1-206-547-5330. Updated, thanks.

Happy mapping!

Looks good, thanks for correcting!

I don't think this should be split with double solid lines, either, as there's no buffer space indicating separate roadways. There is at least one sign on Mercer Island indicating that it is illegal to cross the double solid white line, but there are no barriers.

3D tagging isn't my area of expertise, but this looks good as far as I know.

How did you get the building heights, did you use LiDAR or ARCore, or talk to building owners, or just estimate? Mostly just out of curiosity, because if you have a good process for obtaining building heights, I might have to learn from you :)

Happy mapping!

Hey, thanks for the edit! Address city name should be capitalized, and we use the state code (WA) instead of the full state name. The iD editor tries to autocomplete addresses based on nearby addresses it sees, but in sparsely-mapped areas like this one, sometimes you have to type out the full address information yourself.

My other note is that you almost certainly should use a "driveway" and not a "living street". Living streets are mostly a European concept, and similar laws and designations are rare in much of the United States. Living streets, I believe, are public and serve several residences, generally found in urban areas.

One last note is that usually buildings are rectangular or composed of rectangular shapes-in order to map these, you can use the "square corners" feature available in many editors, including the iD editor you used for this edit: select building > right click > "square" (or select building and press "q"). This will make buildings look a lot more clean and accurately represent their rectangularity.

Thanks for the contributions though. I know there's quite the learning curve to OpenStreetMap, and I'm glad you've stuck with us for some time now :)

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I don't remember if I've shared this with you before, but OSM US has a Slack workspace that I've found very helpful for mapping questions as well: https://slack.openstreetmap.us/

Happy mapping!

Thanks. Just to make sure you're aware, demolished:building=* is for buildings, like these, that have been removed in real life but still appear on a lot of aerial imagery. Imagery often lags by several years, so such buildings are sometimes at risk of being re-mapped by well-meaning mappers looking at old imagery, unless we keep them around as demolished:building=* until most imagery is updated or something new takes over the space and gets mapped.

So you used this correctly, thanks—I just wanted to make this clear because sometimes that distinction trips people up: OpenStreetMap generally doesn't keep historical information around if it's no longer "on the ground," except in rare exceptions like demolished:*=*. OpenHistoricalMap (https://openhistoricalmap.org) is an alternative project about past history, if you're interested.
