| 71987206 | Can you give an example? Development's been pretty crazy in my neighborhood too -- it seemed like for a while I was demolishing little buildings and adding big construction sites every week. But I've never seen any trace of the developers themselves tagging the new buildings on OSM. They're less savy down in Brooklyn I guess. |

| 71987206 | Many buildings aren't that simple -- there's not necessarily a single "main" address. Buildings that have only one address should be tagged with that address directly on the building area. Buildings with multiple addresses generally shouldn't get address tags on the building, but rather have their addresses indicated by address nodes placed inside the area (preferably near the entrance in question.) This is the standard implemented during the 2013 NYC building footprint and address import, and mappers here generally follow it. These things are *not* well documented, so it's not surprising to find other approaches in use. And of course the imported data can be improved by survey. But you've left these buildings without any addresses at all, which isn't ideal. For now I've restored the deleted address nodes (and the construction site) with changeset/72466673. Regarding your work on the tunnel, it's great as far as I know. I hadn't noticed that the extra lane was there, and I don't know why it would have been mapped separately. (Maybe it had different restrictions at one point? You might want to discuss it with "rdnaskela23", the mapper who originally added it last year.) But please describe these sorts of major changes to the road network in your changeset comments so your fellow mappers will understand what you're doing and why. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions -- I'm not the most experienced mapper in NYC but I'm one of the more active ones at the moment. Thanks for your work and happy mapping, J |

| 71987206 | Hi tylerchill, can you clarify what's happening in this changeset? Seems you deleted a lane from the Queens-Midtown Tunnel -- was there an extra lane mapped separately? I don't remember seeing one so I'm a little confused. Also you deleted a construction landuse and a lot of address nodes -- I wonder if these may have been deleted by accident while working on the tunnel and LIE? Thanks, Jason |

| 72438930 | Hi Timothy! In this changeset you renamed this pharmacy ( node/5827855718 ) from "Walgreens Pharmacy" to "Rite Aid" and added various Rite Aid brand tags... presumably because it's inside a Rite Aid store ( way/248238776 )? The pharmacy is, in fact, operated by Walgreens. Its signed name is "Walgreens Pharmacy." The Rite Aid store containing it is, in fact, a convenience store, not a chemist. Thanks, Jason |

| 71582747 | I've done a partial revert in changeset/72271844. |
| 72413108 | Hi John, thanks for your contributions in NYC! FYI the standard way of mapping building addresses here is:
This is the standard that was adopted during the 2013 building import so we try to stick with this style. Please let me know if you have any questions! Happy mapping, Jason |

| 70035894 | Hi Emmanuel, what's the reason for tagging this address node with level 1? Is this address upstairs only? |
| 71582747 | There are many... node/2348727691
node/6306935877
node/6177318443
node/5742310959
There may be more. One of the other problems here is that there are so many changes at once that it's hard to QA them properly, and impossible to know what's been changed based on actual knowledge and what's been "fixed" by iD. Please use iD's validator with caution -- its suggestions are just that, suggestions, not gospel. Blindly trusting them will add incorrect (and remove correct) information from the map. Thanks, Jason |
| 71582747 | Hi mapmap44, just noticed this changeset. I'm guessing that all of these changes were suggested by iD's validation feature, is that correct? |
| 72201298 | Thank you! I've updated the website and phone and removed some of the old irrelevant Holiday Inn tags. |
| 71981785 | Ok thanks, I've reconnected. |
| 71746067 | Gotcha. I've done a few of these 3D buildings based on data and zoning diagrams from the NYC dept of buildings -- but it's kinda labor intensive. You did so many at once I thought you might have a secret. |

| 71981785 | Hi tylerchill, thanks for your contributions in LIC! In this changeset you deleted the node node/3205304016 which connected the pedestrian stairway from the Pulaski Bridge walkway to 11th Street. Was this intentional? Is there something blocking the connection between the stairs and 11th Street? Thanks, jmapb |

| 71945921 | wetland! now that's funny... |
| 72201298 | HI nihombashi19, thanks for your contributions in NYC. I see you changed the name of this building ( way/266170597 ) from "Holiday Inn Express" to "Citadines connect". Is "Citadines connect" the new name of the hotel? (That is, it no longer says "Holiday Inn Express" on the outside?) Or maybe it's a separate company that rents some rooms from the Holiday Inn Express? |
| 71746067 | Hi JessAk71, just wondering where you're getting the data for all these building details? |
| 71577389 | Hi red_clover! Thanks for adding this. Nothing wrong with building=container. (In fact I could have sworn I've seen it documented, but I can't find it in the wiki.) I've generally seen it used for individual containers, not a row of containers, but personally I don't see any problem with this usage. I've fixed the shapes a little, added estimated height the buildings, and changed your marketplace POI node to a POI area that contains the entire site. I also moved the name to the POI area, since it applies to the entire place, not just to the buildings themselves. Let me know if you have any questions, happy mapping, J |
| 71462725 | Hi chachafish -- some of the building's you've tagged as house or detached are actually multi-family apartment buildings -- way/249948749 for example. |
| 71441249 | Hi Elizabeth.. please review my comments on changeset/71020462 and please stop adding these spammy tags, especially after the local community has made it clear that they are NOT WANTED!!! |
| 71418674 | Hi again Jamie -- can you please describe what you're trying to do here? And where you're getting your data? Thanks, jmapb |
