Waiting for someone to do Portland on OHM. About 90% of the people reading this will go “What is Open Historical Map!?”. It’s sadly never used… I wish it was updated more often…

Hi there, thanks for the contributions you’ve made to the Portland area in OHM. Can you elaborate on what needs to get updated more often? Do you mean that the rendered map is out of date compared to the underlying data? If you give an example of a changeset that isn’t being rendered yet, we can have the development team take a look.
Or that real-world changes aren’t making it into the database fast enough? To set expectations, OSM used to be just like this, but it’s a lot better now, thanks to the tireless work of many people but especially a smaller number of individuals who made it their passion project.
“Consumer” use of OHM will grow as coverage in certain geographies or themes reaches a critical mass. Already OHM is finding its way into a variety of derivative sites, software, and media. But if we want Portlanders to take notice, we’ll need enough coverage there to give people an idea of our scope. For example, if you’d be interested in importing Portland buildings with their years of construction, let’s discuss the required steps on the OHM forum.
