Well I'd expect its a typo. The toilet building is relatively new as it is not on the hi-def QLD Imagery, but is on ESRI and BING. The Mapillary imagery though of August 2025 show it in all its glory! Even the (non potable) water tank and lighting stands are visible https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=787869403775284 https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1075287621356082 Not visible on 2021 Mapillary https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=211881197312852

Is this in the right place? Didnt see it today but found one other side of Shakespeare 200m east. Pls replace the one I placed there with yours if it is correct

Hi Caleb, wanted to advise you just in case any problem ensues. This changeset (and another other side of bridge) where you added asymmetric (or possibly HGV only?) 80/100 speed limits over the narrow bridge Gwydir Hwy has since been made 80kph in both directions. Mapillary imagery is available. I left the "forward" keys in place. Pls advise.
Good to hear its open again! I'll be doing a N-S Mapillary run along it in the next week if you want to cross check anything. That includes a dual GPS trace as well.

Interesting. You are unfortunately talking about thousands of nodes that I have mapped this way. I also remember a talk-au discussion ([talk-au] Country homesteads April 2022) on place vs landuse, where I enlisted the help of another OSM member to change all my landuse nodes to place. You actually made a similar comment to this one on that thread. This changeset is actually prior to the mass change as all the farm nodes are "landuse". Named nodes do in fact render on the OSM GUI (and my mkgmap GPS) and it is unusual for me to leave a farm nameless as most have been gleaned from street imagery of access signs. Personally I like the vague location that gets displayed as it suggest a wider land use. Farm building type & location choices from overheads are also a bit risky IMO. I am also quite wary of using DCS base farm names, nowadays really only using them as a spelling cross-check for a sign photo. So many are now just wrong. I also had an interesting discussion with a farmer about the "recent & unethical" practice of renaming a farm from the original that (he said) seems to happening more and more. For a while there I created some nodes with a fixme that were DCS name based mainly so my GPS would prompt me to record a note, but now I have a different mkgmap method. I suspect that the node you are referring to has in fact a missing name fixme. So I guess thanks for your comment/ideas but I don't think there is a compelling reason to change my work method. | 164396936 | Must have been too much coffee. Will fix a bit later today using maxspeed:type:AU as well. Tnx much.
They have all been fixed by one of my mapping colleagues. I think I got confused by the Australian Guidelines wiki using "AU" as part of a post office key (post_office:type:AU)=*, but as a value in maxspeed:type Tnx for your help
Going to take a while, will try to enlist some help from other AU mappers with change/scripting support. Tnx for the info

Mapillary imagery, my own. I usually do the OSM data input within a few days of capture, often before I upload to the server. My OSM diary has an article on my workflow. Cheers
Yep the church sign is on the imagery. It reads; "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Visitors Welcome". In that respect I appear to have the church type wrong. It seems too that the church building is "out by one" on OSM such that it points to a one within the cadet polygon. Will fix the name and position unless you suggest otherwise.

Woops. this changeset not from live Mapillary data. Shoud be titled "(Mostly) Data from discarded Mapillary private imagery, mostly street addresses."
Yeah thanks for that. Bleary eyes. 108 was actually 10B. Found 10A as well. Nice to know I am being cross checked. Cheers
Woops was actually private Mapillary images, for house numbers
Yeah woke me up too. It's one of those blue/white actual property/address signs https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1605837640341331 and https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=2310169352671621 I am guessing the Red Lion pub is at the original railway station address. sixmaps/DCSBase has the same lot/parcel number on it just west of the train line. Similar looking sign at the cemetery a bit further north. Bugger though I got the number wrong so just fixed that

The QFES/QFRS fire station and SES are in the same building. Both services are often co-sited and/or very close in smaller communities Judging by the Facebook photo they are fully shared, so there is no actual building division. It may be best to change to a single building way and add/change to a node each for the fire station and SES. There are actually 3 emergency services logos on the sign. SES, QFRS and probably QFES. The Mapillary images are quite old and not very clear!
Hi os-emmer. This has sent me on quite an interesting search. The shed has a sign "Ilfracombe Joint Emergency Services" that includes the SES emblem. See the co-sited rural fire brigade Facebook photo set at https://www.facebook.com/ilfracomberuralfirebrigade/photos 45 approx frames down. The same shed has been upgraded from my 2021 Mapillary imagery where the sign is not readable. I found a web note too that QLD legislation stops publishing station contact details, so online lists that might include an address have seemed to have been removed from the web.

Hi. is it really sealed this far out of LR? I just changed some more of Sherman Rd closer to LR based on Bing Aerial and wonder if it now meets this paved section?
Hi. regarding the substation at Duaringa way/610807805 I notice the object spelling omits a "U" but did not consider changing it as there is an associated wikidata entry. I'll try to check any signage when I leave town tomorrow, unless you change beforehand. Cheers.
