Hello,
What does the tag "M:hazard_prone" mean, for example on way/343818146/history ?
Best Regards,

Thanks for that.
Actually, from looking at one of the affected items way/343818146/history it looks like this tag was introduced about 7 years ago my someone else.

To be clear, the wiki page osm.wiki/Proposal_process says "a vote result is never permission for large-scale re-tagging of existing objects. See automated Edits code of conduct for more about this topic"

See osm.wiki/Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct for what you should do before any automated edit (and yes, the maproulette tasks as written (change tag x to tag y) were nothing more than automated edits.

The wiki is unclear on many things, but on this it makes it very clear that what you did was wrong.

I've re-opened the discussion on the tagging list, and have suggested what might be the best steps forward. I suggest that you comment there.

Hallo,
Das sieht sehr nach einer mechanischen Bearbeitung aus. Wurde das irgendwo besprochen?
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Andy

Hello,
This looks very like a mechanical edit. Was it discussed anywhere?

Looking at the projects linked to from https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/maproulette-request-for-comments-liking-and-flagging-challenges/5838/5 ,

27058, 26992, 26991, 26976, 26851 and 26850 look like genuine attempts to improve the data.

24298, 24297, 24296 and 24295 look like just trying to change one set of tags for another.

For example, diplomatic=high_commission is documented as an in-use tag in the OSM database.

The tagging list was contacted https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2022-January/thread.html#63778 and it was made clear to you that this WAS a mechanical edit. You ignored this and went ahead anyway.

Hello,
How's your memory? I'm asking about node/421786035/history which was added back in 2009(!)
That was originally added as "highway=waymarker", and has since been changed to "marker=stone". Is that the best tag for it, or is it maybe something like a guidepost (tourism=information; information=guidepost) or route marker (tourism=information; information=route_marker)?

Andy

Hello,
Surely way/33755248/history is a duplicate of the now completed BOAT to the south way/895921980 (and presumably the gate on this belongs on that)?
Also what is "destination=byway"?

Andy

Hello,
I actually render (or rendered) these. Whenever you're making tag changes like this please ensure that any data consumers know about your change. In this case https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/emergency#projects would have shown it at the time you make the change and (until I fix the rendering)
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/emergency=mountain_rescue_box#projects does now.
Any automated edits must of course follow osm.wiki/Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct .
Best Regards,
Andy

Oops - I see it's been renamed to emergency=mountain%20rescue?uselang=en-GB , but I don't think that that's the right tag, unless the team are based there? The wiki would suggest emergency=rescue_box now I think?

Hello,
node/2018366012/history was previously tagged as a mountain rescue box. Is it really not there any more?

Hello,
I was wondering what "farmland=past" on way/1111566160/history might mean?

Yes, this tagging makes much more sense and is more popular for the same thing.

https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Whetstone_Interchange isn't really anything that we can use, is it? Without any source information (e.g. to a photograph of a sign) it's just a page on the Internet that someone made up.

Hello,
Where did you get the name "Heath Interchange" from here?
It's not signed, but this junction is universally referred to as "Heath".
I ought to know - I used to live just down the road.

Andy

Hello,
What was the source of the junction name on the nodes here? I don't ever remember it being referred to as that, and I've driven up and down here (and walked past here) a lot over the last 30-odd years.
Best Regards,
Andy
