Erm - you perhaps ought to have a read of the page osm.wiki/Relations/Relations_are_not_Categories in the OSM wiki :)

For the avoidance of any doubt - Google Streetview isn't a valid source for OSM (the licence is incompatible). Obviously you may be mapping things from local knowledge here (and just saying "they really do exist; you can look at GSV if you don't believe me!"), and this data has been deleted anyway now, but just for info.

Hi all - Andy from the Data Working Group here. A couple have people have mentioned the ongoing arguments about language names in Belarus to us, and we'd like to do what we can to help. Obviously we're somewhat aware of the history here (and I've read the various numbers, some conflicting, on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Belarus ). It may be that one solution won't work for the whole country, and that "name" may need to be BE in one place, RU in another (with of course name:be and name:ru being present in both).
Mobile maps will generally already render based on either name:be or name:ru, as does http://openstreetmap.by . I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but for the avoidance of doubt the usual guidance on "what goes in the name tag" is based on http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/w/images/d/d8/DisputedTerritoriesInformation.pdf . If anyone wants the DWG's guidance on particular places then please email data@osmfoundation.org , and explain why you think that a "name" as it currently is in OSM. If you can provide evidence (perhaps a photograph of a Belarussian road sign, or evidence that most people in a place speak Russian) then please include that too, and we'll do what we can to help reach the best compromise we can.

In this changeset and most other recent ones you've not used any changeset comment. Adding a changeset comment allows other mappers to see why you've changed what you've changed. As you can see from http://osm.mapki.com/history/node.php?id=234298960 the objects here have politically been subject to "edit wars", so it's important to explain your changes to other mappers.

Actually, looks like someone's changed something in wikidata back in April - wikidata now says "village and civil parish". Barnby Moor still in 2 pieces though (wigh pre-exists this changeset).

Just for info I've tidied up edits in this area by @higuy and @helloworld69 . I've suggested to those users that they might want to try OpenGeoFiction instead osm.org/user_blocks/1478 osm.org/user_blocks/1480 . I'm guessing that they're kids attending Holmes Junior High or Davis Senior High. Thanks for tidying up stuff like this in the past - if you see any new problems, or know of any existing remaining ones. you can let OSM's Data Working Group know about it by sending a mail to data@osmfoundation.org.

Hi xinduqiao - thanks for the reply. We can't use wikimapia as a source, unfortunately, since that is often just traced from Google - see osm.wiki/Wikimapia#Putting_OSM_data_into_Wikimapia_is_not_allowed for more details.
