You say "Kuwait" above, but this is definitely Santiago :)

These deletions have been reverted in a series of changesets up to and including changeset/44004466 . A couple of minor issues were spotted on the way - for example way/162317709/history has duplicate nodes with adjacent buildings, which is best checked out by local mappers. The usual OSM QA tools will spot these.
@CountableRex89 - please do respond to the questions that other mappers are asking (we're trying to help!). If you aren't able to respond to a changeset discussion comment, then you can email data@osmfoundation.org .

I've adjusted the north of way/456253921 to not overlap known forestry areas. The overlap between this and other woodland and agricultural land needs further survey.
The north side of this polygon was fairly crudely drawn before I've amended it; the east, south and west sides may still be.

Hello,
I was just mapping some details based on GPS traces south of Talybont when I noticed node/3989292520 . It's part of a "natural=heath" polygon that covers a large area north of Ebbw Vale. Unfortunately, as you can see from that node and the ones either side, the accuracy with which it's drawn is very low indeed. That nodes in the middle of a forest area, and the ones to the southwest have been plonked on the map with no thought for the underlying imagery.
OpenStreetMap is a shared map and we all need to work together to create the best map. Imagine if it was a landscape painting - someone's drawing the sky, someone houses, someone trees etc. Then someone comes along with a paint roller to fill in the grass, obscuring what everyone else has done.
Please do spend more time and don't just add very rough large-scale features that other people need to essentially redraw from scratch. It will help if you zoom in a lot more as you are adding stuff. I've said this before in
changeset/35849713 and other people have also commented, such as recently in changeset/43616663 .
Finally, as it is important that we work together, it's only polite to reply in changeset discussions such as the ones I've mentioned (and many others where you have been contacted in the past).
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OpenStreetMap's Data Working Group.

Thanks for fixing :)

The address given in their edit checks out with their website - might be worth someone phoning the number on the website to ask if they added it themselves (and then explaining how to do it not in a car park) or if they paid someone else to do it, and if so who.
There have been a large number of "spammy" edits to OSM recently - a number of companies are offering "we can add you to OSM" services. Sometimes the entries are for companies with no physical presence, and so don't belong in OSM, but sometimes they're for real bricks-and-mortar businesses who don't realise that they're paying money to no good effect, as may have happened here.

Hi Manohar,
Any thoughts about this one?
The names are clearly implausible, but it'd be great to try and find out what the user's trying to record here.

Andy

Hi,
It looks like one of the nodes of Tottenham Court Road got accidentally dragged to the west in this changeet. I've tried to fix it in changeset/43921835 - does that look OK to you now? The underlying "standard layer" tiles will take a little while to update (https://a.tile.openstreetmap.org/19/261949/174310.png still looks wrong as I write this) but the underlying data looks OK, and other map tiles based on the same data look OK too.

Andy

Hello,
In this changeset you've added something to the middle of the Indian Ocean. Are you using "geoMapTool" for that? If so, please stop using it immediately - it is broken.
Please contact OpenStreetMap's Data Working Group in data@osmfoundation.org so that we can explain the problem in more detail.
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OpenStreetMap's Data Working Group.

"vollage location" == "village location", obviously. Must learn to spoll.

Oops - looks like there was some duplication in here. I've just merged some duplicates of node/44923764 (deleted them and changed the name to the latest of the various nodes). One of Zombi and Zombe has also been deleted already. Are there any other duplicates?
Cheers,
Andy

Hello,
Please don't add test data to the live OpenStreetMap Server. If you want a test server, perhaps http://api06.dev.openstreetmap.org/ would work for you?
In this case you seem to have added a couple of doodles, one in the middle of the Atlantic.
Best Regards,
Andy

@manoharuss - looks like talk-lk is mostly adverts for events, so I guess no reply there is not surprising. Maybe trying contacting individual mappers locally to see if they can validate or invalidate any of the locations?

Done. Changeset is changeset/43902702 , note is note/793696

Hi,
I've noticed that https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q203889 has a property "OpenStreetMap Relation ID=158392".
Is that (a) a good idea, given that OSM IDs may change and (b) ODBL compliant (see osm.org/copyright)?
Obviously this isn't directly related to the change you've made here, but I thought that you might know the answer.
Incidentally, Luton doesn't seem to have the same problem as Nottingham in wikidata in that the wikidata entry is for both the "town" and the "admin area".

@glglgl Thanks for fixing!

@ff5722 I'd suggest that sometimes there are reasons for not doing that such as when (as here) the "original mapper" seems to be an attention-seeking vandal.

43883335

You've got the link on at least Nottingham wrong here. The city is https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q41262?uselang=en-GB, the admin area is https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q21885994 . relation/123292 should link ot the latter, node/24913081 the former.
Other links in here may have similar issues.

Hi Mike,
How does node/249416250/history make sense as a river here?
I noticed it because I was tidying up some rubbish left behind by a broken app at lat -1, and I found this, which predates it by 8 years.
Any idea what might have happened?
Cheers,
Andy

Hello,
In this changeset you've added some things to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Are you using "geoMapTool" for that? If so, please stop using it immediately - it is broken.
Please contact OpenStreetMap's Data Working Group in data@osmfoundation.org so that we can explain the problem in more detail.
