Starting my first traces and edits north of San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. The Yahoo images are mostly too low resolution to be useful here, so it's coming from traces. I've uploaded a couple of tracks, and then added a few test roads from one of them. The roads don't appear on the map though, no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Went crazy today and fixed as much of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as I can. I added a helluva lot of taxiways (even the turning points--I'm not sure if I did it as expected--since the white painted lines are easy enough to trace from the Yahoo! satellite imagery), added the refs for the two runways, and refined the shapes of the terminals.

This is the second weekend I went out in the darkness and cold to map some details in the bad part of the neighbourhood. At night when it is freezing there's nobody loitering in the streets harassing other people.

Last weekend I did the blocks around the Eisenhowerlaan. This weekend I did the Peltplantsoen and the blocks to the north and south of it.

Did a bit of a run today around Toolangi State Forest and Murrundindi Scenic Reserve. Great little drive through the mountain ashes, with some pretty nice dirt roads, and then a few rougher ones to keep me on my toes. Uploaded and mapped already which is good, but there's a heap of small campgrounds there that I didn't get locations for, so I guess I'll have to go back there some time.

This looks like a fantastic project, and I'm looking forward to making whatever contributions I can. To begin I installed the recently released OSMTrack iPhone application and took a drive north out of town on US Highway 95.

Looking over the map of Las Vegas I noticed a gap in the rendering of US 95 around the military town of Mercury. I don't know if there are traces for that portion yet, but as my username may hint at I love to drive and often drive a large loop around the Spring Mountains, a route that includes the missing portion of highway. As a test I fired up OSMTrack and did the drive starting my trace as I entered US 95 from Durango Avenue. I stopped the trace as I approached home and uploaded the file from my phone.

Logging in to my account at the desktop I see the trace successfully uploaded - excellent! Tomorrow I'll see what it takes to use my first trace to complete the missing portion of highway.

(This is mainly of interest for Danes. English translation in bottom)

http://osm.ter.dk/

=== IN ENGLISH ===

I have inserted all Danish ways (based on denmark.osm) in a local table and created a quick interface for searching. The purpose is to locate trivial errors in the names.

The search page:
http://osm.ter.dk/

There are furthermore two special pages:
- list of names containing semicolon (as a result of two merged ways)
- list of names with uncommon characters in Danish street names (including double utf8 encoded names)

The page is based on a static dump. Some of the errors in the data have already been fixed. The plan is to perform a daily import (and perhaps updates utilizing the OSM API)

A planned task is to compare the street names to the ones from AWS (Danish public Address Web Services) to make sure the official street names are used.

Comments are appreciated. I'm new on the OSM scene and unaware if there are existing tools with the same features.

I did my first serious batch of edits today. I installed both JOSM and Merkaater on my machine, and find myself more productive in Merkaater, so that's probably what I'll be sticking with. I've been filling in a lot of tertiary and secondary roads in West Seattle and Burien. Looking around at the standards used elsewhere in Seattle, it looks like some of the roads I marked as tertiary roads should probably be promoted to secondary roads, but I still need to hunt around.
