I've made up some street edits around my neighbourhood

I've made my first edits over the past couple days. I cleaned up my neighborhood as well as adding the US15/501 four lane between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. All of this was originally Tiger data. Hopefully, since this is my first go it will be a positive contribution. 8^)
Hi diary, long time no write.
Over the weekend I was in the North Lakes area doing some "real" field mapping (as opposed to Yahoo armchair mapping). More recently I've done some mini-mapping* in the Sinnamon Park-Darra corridor as per the lat/lon of this diary entry.
Also recently took ownership of an Eee netbook + bluetooth + Haicom 408-BT. Much less cumbersome when out on the road but the Haicom doesn't quite have the sensitivity of the i-gotU. (MTK vs SirfStarIII chipsets respectively). Both are much more sensitive than my old Delorme Earthmate (SirfStar II) though.
* mini-mapping = addition of landuses, residental townhouse estates, etc.
Hi to awesm, David Dean, redsofa and AshKyd who I've been seeing adding quality edits to the Brisbane area recently (-:
As there seemed to be some interest I've advertised a mapping party in Reykjavík, Iceland on Tuesday.
- Several bugs in Braunschweig city (around Hennebergstraße) corrected.
- Several bugs in Braunschweig city (Maginiviertel) corrected. Mainly one way streets.
I'm back in Homfirth West Yorkshire over Christmas. Haven't been back "home" in a year now, and it's been looking annoyingly incomplete all this time. So I guess it's my responsibility to do something about that. Someone else has taken care of Meltham, over in the next valley.

Couple of problems with this. In general I'm still only used to mapping based on Yahoo imagery. Without this, it seems to be necessary to be far more focused and thorough about the quality of the traces you're gathering, e.g. follow an approach like 80n's "keep turning left" rule to get a trace along the length of every little residential road. Haven't tended to be quite so thorough with my mapping in the past.
NPEmaps are not available as a WMS feed into JOSM at the moment. Is that right? Don't seem to be working for me.
I've added a much more accurate track for a small portion of the National Cycle Network 18 route, and added a tiny road from the B2160 across to Pembury that wasn't there before.
Got a blumax 4043 for Christmas and tried it out for the first time today. Updated the track for Clay Hill Road near Lamberhurst in Kent.
Do you think that tag for the local junkyard would be appropriate? I don't think landuse=landfill would beokay,a s tempting as it is. For the time being, it's twin tagged with landuse=industrial.
Vladivostok is a 500 thousand people city on the Pacific coast, and its online map is only available at OSM. Neither international internet monsters nor their local competitor Yandex have any maps of Vladivostok yet.
Henry Coe, 40 miles south of San Jose, is *huge* and there's a million small and not so small trails going everywhere. I had already spent quite a bit of time adding trails the last few weeks but today, I spent my sick day tracing my whole inventory of Coe GPX files. This park used to be pretty much empty when I discovered OSM about a month ago. Now you don't know where to look first.
Unfortunately, I don't have the names of many trails. Will need to take better notes the next time...
*dupe*
I've imported the Irish Lighthouse data that Dolphin3900 got. (more details: osm.org/user/Dolphin3900/diary/1233)
I have started mapping house numbers as well now. They seem to render in OSMA and it is definitely a step in the right direction.
Добавих още улици от уличната мрежа на Казанлък. Все още обаче сме далеч от пълното покритие на града. Но започва все повече да се оформя :)
It's always exciting when I have the opportunity to add a major natural or manmade feature to the map. Today, when I was touching up Highway 89 between Truckee and Lake Tahoe, I noticed on the satellite image the river which runs next to the highway. This is the Truckee River. I traced the route of the river from its source at Lake Tahoe all the way to near downtown Truckee.
Once again, there's plenty of room for lots of additional work here, including extending the Truckee river to its outlet, as well as tagging as bridges all the small roads that cross the river.
I just finished some satellite mapping of the Tristan da Cuncha archipelago. For reference I used a free map of the islands on Wikimedia Commons.
It would be pretty easy to map Edinburgh of the Seven Seas by bike, the hard part is getting someone there. Optimally we'd get the islanders involved.
I've just mapped Hirschau Ehenfeld using the Oberpfalz LVA imagery (Germany, bavaria). I've found lots of tracks in the photos and followed them through the woods, but now some local people have to categorize the tracks.

Днес добавих второстепенния асфалтов път за връх Бузлуджа, както и пътя свързващ връх Бузлуджа с връх Шипка. Продължавам и с разширяването на уличната мрежа в Казанлък.
