Last weekend I was cycling along some of the marked cycle routes and I'm almost sure that one of the signs on the marked route shows the wrong direction. While following FO5/FO12 I arrived at the following crossing coming from east:

osm.org/?mlat=49.6555&mlon=11.1834&zoom=14&layers=00B0FTF

At this crossing the sign for FO5/FO12 guided me towards north-east. However, at the next crossing, there was no sign anymore. So I turned and headed for the small village Pommer, where I found a sign for FO5/FO12 again. So I believe that the road north-east of that crossing is not part of FO5 and that some jokesters have changed the direction of one of the signs at that crossing.

Could you please double-check the sign and the cycle route in case you're eventually close to that crossing.

In the last week or so, I've finished collecting all the street names for the Melbourne suburbs of Avondale Heights & Keilor East. There are 3 streets which don't have street signs, looks like I'll have to contact the council.

As described in my last post (First update on mapping OpenStreetMap (long overdue)), I had already collected ~1/2 the street names by riding down main roads and collecting all the street names that I pass by. Then I used the NoName layer to plan a "snake route" which takes me past the ends of all the remaining streets.

BTW, looks like I've previously completed all the missing street names from a few other suburbs: Niddrie, West Essendon & Aberfeldie.
My plan for OSM contribution in the immediate future is to complete the street names of suburbs (I've traced) one by one, before moving onto more tracing or other work. Might need to get a GPS for "other work".

Looks like the Tiger data for much of Casper is pretty bad. I spent a great deal of time looking over the city, and fixing things where I know it to be off.

Many of the streets on the city show as "zig-zag", but are obviously straight in reality. These type of fixes are quick and easy.

I also added a number of the one-way streets around the city.

Mapped a few rivers (The Lorette and the Duberger, as well as the latter's main tributaries) and some peaks in the Charlesbourg/Orsainville area. Smaller rivers are a BITCH to do, especially in non-urban settings. I'm wondering whether the Rivière des Roches isn't actually undergrounded before it reaches the Duberger... Strange fact: AFAICT, the Lorette River starts as a field drain, which actually continues all the way down to the Cap-Rouge River.

Also added in most of the neighborhoods I could remember offhand. Big ones (Duberger, Les Saules, Orsainville...) as suburbs, smaller ones (Le Mesnil, Château-d'Eau) as hamlets: the only actual difference is the zoom level they appear at (it's not a good idea to make Bourg-Royal and Charlesbourg show at the same level, but Orsainville and Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides might be). I'm not clear whether the innermost ones (Montcalm, Saint-Soch, Saint-Sauveur, Saint-Sacrement, Vieux-Québec) are best put as hamlets or suburbs. I'll have to see whenb they render... Haven't yet decided whether to put in the Limoilou neighborhoods (Lairet and Maizerets). Would have put in Val-Saint-Michel and Bélair, but am not sure where best, and whether they are relevant. Not sure where exactly is Champigny either, or what are the actually used (if any) neighborhoods within Beauport, L'Ancienne-Lorette and Sainte-Foy/Sillery/Cap-Rouge.

Maybe a finer hierarchy could be achieved by using the village tag. I'll have to check what the results are.

At some point it would be desirable to trace the built area around the agglomeration, but the outdatedness of the Y!Map images makes that complicated.

Mapped some gps tracks yesterday.
Added some paths in a forest near Eckental-Brand ( and some service ways inside the village).
Second gps track was from Stürzelberg, near Dormagen. Before the trip to that village there was nearly white space on osm there. So i decided to travel by bike and traced nearly all streets there. Being back home i saw that someone was faster ;-) Nearly 100% of the work was already done. I only added several paths....
