Beschreibung der Tour:

1. Team-Nightride 2008 - Arbeitstitel "Uluru V3A"

FWIW I've typically dealt with the simpler cases of separated roads crossing each others or single-carriage road by making all ways cross each others in a single point, which is marked with a highway=traffic_signal tag. To me, anything else is at best misleading, at worst downright incorrect.

ETA: Apparently, some other people seem to agree with my take.

Last three days has seen me mapping at different levels in three different locations. Friday just walking around near work (Hendon) capturing some street names alerted to by nonames layer. Saturday at a family wedding in Minster (Kent) just adding some detail to the village we were staying in. Sunday did the morning stint at the Wembley/N London mapping party, before going to the (not so) Grand Junction Arms to meet others. No beer on tap, and whatever food you like as long as it is called roast.
Now, over time I have regretted entering some streets AFTER having doing so, particularly in some sink estates. Well, today I found a road that I wouldn't even enter, even in a car. It was in Brent Park, just off the N Circ. Coming to a mini-roundabout in a combined residential/industrial estate there was a left turn into a road that needs adding to the map. It was guarded by discarded electrical appliances, bedsteads, parts of cars, prams, etc, and two large alsatians (I think you get the picture). Looking down the street I could see menacing looking youths, and a few urchins, white vans, fancy caravans, and bikes/toys strewn all over the road. It was a dead end so I knew that going in to get a gpx trace would mean stopping, turning round and coming out again. So I took the street name down (yes it is a permanent location, with houses etc) and will mark an estimate of the length of it in the db, with tags such as note="not entered, estimate", access="the very brave", etc.

October 11, exactly 1 month before my 18th birthday.
The sky is blue, and the temperature is about 20° C and higher. What a perfect day for a bicycle trip!

2 minutes to pump up the rear tyre of my bicycle (I think it has a hole, but, indeed it's 10 years old and maybe even more!), put my blue helmet and I'm gone, 1.5 L water bottle, some chocolate, usb gps unit and laptop in the bag.

"Sense", I'm coming. After cycling up the hill in Praroman, I widely open my eyes for the very long descent coming (Route de Thorin). Wow. Even my eyes catched teardrops.
Then, reality coming back. Junction without any road signs. So... let's thing, where do I want to go? Sense ? Javoll! "Talfahrt" geht weiter... => "Plunge" continues...

Oh, "regional cycle routes signs" on the way!
It seems that I took the good decision!
Schöne Strasse in den Wälder! Kein Auto, mmmh :-)

Stersmuehle, industrial zone. And little place to have a bath in the Sarine/Ärgera.

Then, after this long descent, it's time to climb, climb, climb, ...
And get afraid of crazy young riders (on motorcycle) coming in the opposite way!!!

Tentlingen. Schöne strasse mit "double cyclelanes" but only one lane for cars, so, the cars meet in a very special way when there's someone cycling there...
Something a little afraid for me, if you see what I mean...

Then, Giffers village. Oh! Children exiting a restaurant. Some child had his birthday lunch there. Schönxi!
Nowadays, get lost, and oh! I must go there : "Le Pafuet" or something like this. Long descent "Aergerastrasse" and medium climb after it.
Le Pafuet, Centre Sportif du Mouret. Go to "Route d'Oberried". Oh. What a awful climb. Then turn right to Montévraz.
Industrial zone, no road left! ?!?!? So take the mucky path strait ahead. Ouch!
Ok, and then, I found the "Route cantonale" again to Le Mouret, and took my way back to home.

Wonderful trip. Wonderful day. Wonderful "Bénichon"!

See you soon on the roads of Fribourg!

An incorrect rendering of the "Flensborg fjord" or "Flensburger förde"
have appeared at the oma rendered maps.

See more at http://informationfreeway.org/?lat=54.82466911472931&lon=9.664814209280461&zoom=10&layers=B0000F000F

Is this caused by a broken coastline or incorrect rendering request (sea or land instead of mixd) ?

Besides from knowing what the problem is I would also like to know how to figure out what the problem is. Is there a wiki tour that explains how to debug the OSm rendering ?

Useassa kohtaa on jo meidän tuplajälkeä, joten tiet näyttää olevan aika hyvin keskiarvoissaan. mm. Alajärven pohjoisosan tiet ovat tällaisia. Itse olen jatkanut pyöräteiden ja kuntopolkujen kartoitusta. Viimeisimpänä Aulangon ja Tervaniemen kuntopolut.

So, I added a whole bunch of house numbers while going to check the name of a park. Turns out the "park" (basically a grassy zone) was next to a community garden, as I has suspected (though I'm still trying to figure what the "BP" stands for...). Haven't added much else because it's quiet residential streets, so there are no phones, post boxes or whatever. Will probably need to go back and double-check for the way the alleys are laid.

On a totally different topic, who should eb alerted when it comes to this silliness? The system purging accounts probably could use a revision because if deleting an account does NOT actually removes the offending links, there is no incentive for spammers to stop. Wouldn't a cap on number of links be simpler to implement?

ETA: Now that's an improvement ^__^

I didn't really intended to start fixing up the data for Ayala Center Makati. But since I went to the Gold's Gym branch in Glorietta last Friday, I wanted to lay down the information I memorized in OSM as soon as possible.

One thing I noticed ever since I started mapping in OSM is that I became more observant of the roads and buildings that I go to or pass by. I guess I'm an OSM addict that way. Hehehe.
