Hi all, my first steps in OS mapping. Primarily interested in adding/editing cyclepaths, I statred out in the town where I live, Terneuzen, the Netherlands. Where it is clear I will also correct all the obvious changes that have taken place since the AND data has been put into the map.
But, as said, all of this 2nd priority over the cycling path data.

Best regards,

Hein Schouwenaars

Did some more cycling around Lower Plenty, added in some missing roads and parks.
Also surveyed much of the north eastern part of Westerfolds Park (Templestowe, Victoria, Australia).
So now there's Car Parking, service roads, toilets, and drinking fountains (even a boat moor (it's for canoes).

I'll add more service roads, and amenities around the rest of Westerfolds Park, and probably Finn's Reserve soon.
- Right after I fix the flat tire I sustained on Monday's cycle.

Spent a bit of time tinkering with an OpenMoko FreeRunner.

Have converted and uploaded a number of GPS trails in the Littlehaptom area.
This area is not covered by the Yahoo imagery.

More GPS trails from around Mount Barker to get converted and uploaded later.

I just bought a printer, so I've printed out a map with the NoName plugin and added a few missing street names: the four streets in the centre of . I uploaded them with Merkaator but strangely they do not appear in the openstreetmap.org site, not even using Osmarender. I guess I'll wait a bit longer.

I have one question: what to do when a single street has been added in two sections, as the northmost of the four streets in the centre of the above map. Should I attach the street name to both sections, or should I try to edit the street in Merkaator to make it a single line?

I'm inclined to just label both halves of the street with the same name and let maplint or some other tool search the map afterwards for possible tidying up. Is that okay?

Went for another bike ride on the weekend.

This time along the Monee ponds creek until somerton road and then across to Woodlands Historic Park. Made a few bad decisions in the park and ended up inside an electrified fence on my road bike following the fence line over some pretty rough ground until I found another gate to let me out.

Anyway did some of the other tracks in the park using the yahoo imagery. Want to head back out there with my mtb and get all of the tracks and fences in the park.

so i just come back from holiday, and i've totaled up around 1,200km of tracks (unfourtantly i did do alot more driving but i didn't think to turn on the gos tracking on my phone for the first half of the holiday) for roads mainly in croatia, but over the border to italy and slovenia, i think most of the bigger routes seem to already be on the map, but figured since i was driving around may as well have it tracking routes just incase :)

the area i stayed in seems like a blank canvase, but there was only a handful of roads, but i'll add in what i can, i'm actually surprised at just how much of it seems done already, unfourtantly seems like most of thje places i've been to have been added, but the odd bits that aren't shall help in the long run!

Was meine ich?

Only intended to go for a short walk, mapping a couple of streets in the
neighbourhood of Massagno and Lugano. Ended up in Muzzano, Ponte Tresa,
Luino and, ultimately, Locarno. How did that happen?

Along the way I did some minor work in Ponte Tresa and Luino but the
train and bus connections are just too good and it was getting sort
of late. Also did a first train of the Luino--Cadenazzo railway line.
Unfortunately, CFF has replaced the old NPZ by Flirts already and the
signal quality was quite poor.

No mapping in Locarno. The area around the station is incredibly
messy, especially on a Sunday around 6 p.m.

A visit to in-laws meant I could go wandering the streets of Hereford, particularly the eastern side of the town where I have added most of Tupsley. I also found quite a few streets that needed correcting near the town centre. I think they must have been set up initially with just a few data points gleaned from someone driving through the streets rather than walking, as I have done over the last couple of days.

WALK PEOPLE! It gets better data, and you notice so much more about the area you are mapping.
