we try to be welcoming for everyone, and if you have any knowledge about your surroundings that you can contribute to OSM, we’re happy to accept that. We are however wary of users who have only just signed up to OSM and whose focus seems to be adding beaches; we know that there is a - false - rumour about Niantic using OSM beach information to determine where to spawn certain Pokemon. Niantic do not use OSM for that, so adding beaches in OSM won’t help you in the game.
