It has come to the attention of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) Data Working Group that your recent contributions involve the systematic misclassification of protected conservation areas. Specifically, you have been applying the ‘leisure=park’ tag to features that qualify as nature reserves. See Changeset 178010534

This practice constitutes a violation of the established tagging schema for United States public lands tagging as defined in the United States Public Lands documentation, ‘leisure=park’ is reserved for managed recreational green spaces, whereas conservation-focused lands must be tagged as ‘boundary=protected_area’ or ‘leisure=nature_reserve’.

Measures to correct:

  1. You are asked to stop applying the ‘leisure=park’ tag to nature reserves immediately.
  2. Please review the United States Public Lands wiki and align your mapping practices with national consensus.
  3. You are requested to audit and correct your previous changesets where this misclassification occurred.

Failure to comply with these directives will result in the summary reversion of your edits.
