Area=yes is a valid way of tagging thick hedges so I can see no reason to remove them.

Findmystreet uses copyrighted OS data and as such cannot be used a source when contributing to OSM.

Please remember that openstreetmap is an opendata project where edits are backed up by on the ground evidence, not dubious web searches.
The source you have quoted here contains crown copyright maps which is an absolute no go area for openstreetmap, in fact the reason it exists in the first place.

The big question for adding things to Openstreetmap is not what would be present in a perfect world but what appears in the world we have got.
So the question is does this appear on the sign which is what we map. Is the local authority list open data?

No what is the purpose of name:en which you have not mentioned in the changeset comment?
No native English speaker ever tanslates the name of the Paris stations therefore the tags you have added are only likely to confuse end users.
For example Eurostar trains go to Paris Nord, you never see the word North on the departure boards at St Pancras.

You set the existing node to disused and created the building as an open pub losing the name.
