I believe the initial tags were correct. Have a look at the Michigan Wiki for how to tag for paddlecraft.
osm.wiki/Michigan#Water.3B_Lakes.2C_Rivers.2C_Streams.2C_Creeks.2C_Drains

Also, name tags should only be given to things/places that have a name.

Thank you for correcting this and for all your hard work in the area.

On the topic of marking a way as under construction, it is preferred to use a conditional access tag with an end date. There is a note on how to do this on the Michigan Wiki page. osm.wiki/Michigan#Ways_Under_Construction

Also on the Michigan Wiki page is an invitation to join our monthly get togethers. It would be great to meet you.

I only had the time to correct the driveways leading to Home Depot.

Wanted to let you know that marking driveways as "access=private" is breaking routing. I've fixed the drives leading to Home Depot, but do not have time to fix others.

I learned about the problem from a friend who's car in full-self driving mode was taking weird paths to get there.

Is this concrete pathway (which is currently closed for construction) really part of the Lansing River Trail Relation?

No problem. We are all in this together.

Have a look at the Michigan wiki, where we have listed common tagging schemes.

Also, take a look at the Events section. We are meeting at the centers of the Michigan tomorrow.

As the crosswalks are tagged as highway=footway, they will also need
the access tag bicycle=yes, to route from road to the concrete path we call a sidewalk in Michigan.

I changed it to shop=piercing, now there are 101. Best to shoot for accuracy than to tag for the renderer. Another option would be shop=jewelry.

I just drove through that area and the Grand Trunk Western railway is long gone, where the goal of OpenStreetMap to accurately represent current ground truth.

I think a more appropriate place for this edit would be the Open Historical Map.

From the areal imagery, that railway looks long gone in most areas, where the goal of OpenStreetMap to accurately represent the current ground truth.

I think a more appropriate place for this edit would be the Open Historical Map.

Most of those houses are better classified as building=detached .

Buildings rarely have names without a purpose/use. Be sure to also tag its use.

You have put a building inside of a building. This will need to be corrected. If you need help, please reach out for it. osm.wiki/Michigan

I see you have been doing this in multiple locations. And in this particular location, there is already a node for the MSU Dairy Store. Was there a reason for this, like maybe it isn't showing in a particular view you are seeing?

Thank you for your recent addition of footways in the Lansing area. In this area, I had to remove some crosswalks that did not exist, connect some ways such that they would properly route, remove the footway=sidewalk tag where the path was separate from the roadway and add bridge tags where the footway went over the river, trail and tracks.

Have a look at the Michigan wiki about Sidewalks and Footways.

Also, at the top of the page, you will see an invitation to join Michigan's monthly meet-up.

Thank you for adding sidewalks. Before you get to far. You may want to take a look at the Michigan wiki on the matter.

Nice work. Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Not knowing OpenStreetMap had become widely known/used in our area, would you mind my asking what brought you to add this business to OpenStreetMap?

Thank you for doing this. We were just talking about this problem at last month's meetup.

If you are interested in mapping paddlecraft features, we should talk. Also, I have been adding notes on how best to tag them to the Michigan Wiki page.
