This building does not exists at the moment: way/1535764127 They are digging the ground for the foundation, but it will be a long time (maybe a year, maybe more) until there is actually a building there.

does it make sense to add a separate shelter node? Usually these are handled inside the bus stop node with shelter=yes

The current state is horribly wrong and broken. You can't drive from Hirschgraben to Pontstr. But you can go around.

@tux67 this is why vehicle=destination is so wrong here. You can drive your car between these endpoints I shared above. pontstrasse is not closed at the moment. But you can't drive on the path the routing algorithm gives you because there is construction. you can go around it, and enter pontstrasse from kreuzherrenstrasse and exit from saarstrasse. I drive this route almost every day and osm is horribly broken at the moment due to the incorrect vehicle=destination tag.
