In this case I went for a guided hike on Pigeon island, and did a GPS track of one of the (several) trails. I then compared this to satellite photos, then manually drew the trail - the GPS track was a little noisy. Considering that the trail may itself drift over time, this seemed a sufficiently faithful approach.
