Are you sure about your changes? Path 612 is an official CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) path that passes over a wooden bridge, now the modification has made it pass over a ford. If you make changes using only bing and other online tools you may damage the work done by other mappers who have personally walked the path.

Credo che tu abbia rotto varie relation (via alpina, CAI 072, alpe adria trail) e forse anche altre. Ora sto mettendo a posto spezzando in modo da poter aggiungere la way mancante (way/1268336185) alle relations rotte.

Penso che la suddivisione in tappe sia utile per motivi tecnici e anche per motivi pratici.
I motivi tecnici sono quelli descritti nel link che ti ho inviato e che riassumendo sono:
è difficile da gestire, è più facile da rompere, è più facile che ci siano conflitti, consuma risorse di database e server.
Inoltre, se il numero di membri è superiore a 2.000, ci sono anche problemi di visualizzazione della history, come ad esempio questa: relation/120712/history
che va' in timeout e non visualizza nulla.

Nel caso della via Romea, ho trovato molte rotture, nel senso che c'erano way mancanti o comunque da sistemare.
Se la relation ha un numero limitato di membri, risolvere questi problemi è abbastanza semplice, se invece è elevato non è un compito agevole.
Oltre a questo problema, quando verrà mappata fino in Estonia, avrebbe anche tutti i problemi precedentemente descritti.

Riguardo alla suddivisione in tappe, secondo me la logica dipende dal contesto, alcune relation sono suddivise per tappe
percorribili giornalmente, altre relation sono suddivise in base ad altri criteri, come quello regionale o altri criteri ancora.
Per come la vedo io il criterio non è un punto fondamentale, preferirei vederla come un sistema per stare sotto i 300 membri e anche un ottimo sistema per gestire le varianti.
Rimane comunque la possibilità di avere una superrelation che descrive l'oggetto complessivamente e che consente la sua visualizzazione.

Comunque queste sono solo mie opinioni, l'unico dato di fatto è che wiki consiglia di stare sotto i 300 membri per ogni relation.

secondo me il tag name non rispetta le regole OSM (vedi name=*?uselang=en)

A mio parere si dovrebbe spostare il valore “SI-C A10-A” nel tag ref o, se non è un ref, si può sposatarlo in description o note. Mentre “Prosenicco - Rif. Pellizzo”, oltre che non essere un name, sono valori già presenti nei tag from e to.

Ciao, in Friuli Venezia Giulia i sentieri CAI (e anche le strade) sono rifinite con le ortofoto IRDAT FVG ed eventualmente le hillshade IRDAT. Le ortofoto IRDAT sono più precise e affidabili delle foto satellitari. In alcuni casi Strava Heatmap non corrisponde alle ortofoto IRDAT, e in questi casi prendo per buone le IRDAT che sono molto affidabili e precise. In questa ultima tua modifica vedo che c'è uno scostamento con le ortofoto IRDAT.
Quasi tutti i mappatori di sentieri in FVG usano le ortofoto, hillshade e, quando serve, strava.

Forse non tutti sanno che per il Friuli Venezia-Giulia ci sono delle ortofoto e hillshade molto precise, abbastanza recenti (2020) e assolutamente fantastiche.
Rispetto a Bing Maps Aerial, e altre mappe satellitari sono molto più precise e affidabili.

Ok, grazie, ma come ti dicevo in FVG, quando si può, si utilizzano le ortofoto. Le tue modifiche hanno peggiorato leggermente la qualità della mappatura. Hello, I inform you that the latest OSM mapping for Friuli Venezia-Giulia uses the 2020 IRDAT orthophotos which are much more reliable and precise than Esri World Imagery and Bing Maps Aerial.
