I'm sorry, I've learnt now and won't do it again

as well as reverting all the name tags, you've gotten rid of all the name:gd tags. come on, *correcting* is fine but deleting all those data isn't

all of these are the same exact name, but one is spelled in the language of the name itself and actually carries meaning, while the other is just an anglified transliteration of Gaelic, hardly an "English name"

Hello! the village of Auldearn is named after that burn, both are called Allt Èireann in Gaelic, literally meaning "Irish burn" (https://www.ainmean-aite.scot/?id=38838). Ordnance survey doesn't show any name for that burn in any language but if there is a common Scots name then by all means add it too.

For the burns in Inverness, the tributaries all only have Gaelic names and it too has had a Gaelic name since its first recording (https://www.ainmean-aite.scot/?id=42486). The settlement obviously is called Millburn officially but the burn is more known in Gaelic than English.

lastly, if you looked through the history you'd see it wasn't me that added those source and source:name tags

what existing valid data did I delete? I'm going to have to re-do all the merges and re-add all the missing Gaelic to this.

tha mi duilich, bha fhios agam mu dhèidhinn a' chiad rud 's bha mi dìreach ag iarraidh gum bi tuilleadh Gàidhlig ri fhaicinn air OSM, ach cuiridh mi stad air. Bha mi buileach aineolach air an darna phuing, tapadh leibh airson m' innse

's math sin, gabhaibh mo leisgeul nach robh fios agam gun robh sin cleachdte ann an dà-rìribh. Am faod sibh tùs a chur thugamsa mu dhèidhinn seo?

Eilean Balnagowan is what this island is called in English, you can see this on OS maps and on the wikipedia page for Cuil Bay. It also isn't the true Gaelic name but a corruption of it; the Gaelic spelling is Eilean Bhaile nan Gobhainn

Burn is not the name of these watercourses, it is the type of watercourse they are (burn is scots for stream). Why are you putting that in the name tag?

carson a sgrìobh sibh Blàr na Gobhainn le facal boireannta airson Blairingone?

Tha an leabhar le Simon Taylor air mo bheulaibh an-dràsta agus sgrìobh esan gun robh e Blàr a' Ghobha(i)nn no Blàr nan Con

Gaelic first in Cille Mhoire - Kilmuir.

178003200

Sleat and Kilmuir parishes are primarily Gaelic speaking! they should have Gaelic in the name= tag

Cill MoLuaig in gàidhlig has a capital L in the middle of it.

Right well Skye is pretty bilingual but as per your orders I'll put the whole island back to its primary language (Gaelic in Slèite, Cille Mhoire and also Tiriodh afterwards and English in Snizort, Bracadale, Strath, Duirinish and Portree)

173330580

because the only difference is the accent, the spelling is the same

175740817

tapadh leibh airson ur comhairle, ma thachras sin cuiridh mi Tiriodh sa Ghàidhlig a-righist cuideachd.

173282757

why did you make Tiree bilingual? more than 50% of islanders speak Gaelic

144982413

Scottish Gaelic and Irish are different languages, don't copy paste like that.

air a' mhapa a rinn Heathar Smith airson Iomairtean na Gàidhlig, 's e "Bràigh na h-Aibhneadh an t-ainm air Kingsville agus tha Gleann Dail agus Glendale co-ionnainn. Carson a rinn thu e gu diofar?

is it really right to change the station names to Partick (subway) and Partick (rail)?
