I've added a bit of data over the past decade or so, this is the first thing I've removed.

I removed it because the on-the-ground impression was that it really didn't exist in a meaningful way anymore, if you'd seen it you may well agree with me.

I'll remove the connection with Hamills Lane, as it's definitely not there anymore (as I said, there's a fence but no gate) and add a gate at the end of Smiths Lane.

I'm aware of the tag.

I would have been open to a discussion on this, rather than just reverting the change. There are a lot of legacy gazetted roads around that don't really exist in practice; I've added access:private to quite a few that do exist but aren't open to the public. There are unfortunately way too many private roads that have been put in but without that tag, it makes using the map quite problematic. (As well as private access not being visible on quite a number of map renderings.)

There is a question of whether a map of theoretical roads is useful I guess. It is a couple of indentations in some grass, and a fence (no gate). I would say this is in the process of either formally or informally being removed.
