So, this is on private property owned by York Land Trust, the organization that I work for, with signs saying ‘no access beyond this point’ and ‘illegal trail do not enter’. I will get photos. I have seen a noticeable uptick in users of these trails since being added to OSM, and while I now understand the ethos of mapping everything that us on the ground, trail users should be able to identify when they have entered illegal trails that traverse through rare animal habitat, trample through vernal pools, and go directly through groves of rare plants- most trail users (aside from the entitle ones that built these illegal trails), are genuine stewards of the land, and understand the necessity giving wildlife the space it needs to roam. I am shocked that as a private landowner, these trails can be marked as allowed access when they were not sanctioned nor wanted by the landowner. We do not have the resources to completely brush these trails in this year. It is very disheartening that people will continue to share these trails instead of using the 60+ miles of sanctioned and well-maintained trails in the area.

A few of these trails do not exist on the ground anymore. I will be going out in the next couple weeks to clarify which ones are in fact nonexistent and will be deleting them. Do not re-add them when I do this as YLT has been try to close these trails for years (there are plenty of trails in the area that do not go through incredible sensitive wildlife habitat).
