I don't know of any OSM rules/guidelines that road classifications can change only at a junction with another road of an equal or higher classification. Stubs are fine if they accurately reflect road characteristics/roles rather than visual preferences of editors.

But this segment of Otis Street is now overclassified; I believe highway=tertiary is the best classification. It's two lanes, one in each direction, with a 25 mph speed limit (https://www.codepublishing.com/CA/Lynwood/#!/Lynwood07/Lynwood0710.html#7-10) & has stop signs at the intersections with Abbott Road & Imperial Highway. In my view, stop signs on secondary roads should be rare & intersections with other secondary & primary roads require traffic signals, therefore highway=tertiary is the best classification for this highway segment.

Hi, the previous extent of motorway tagging on the Santa Monica Freeway matched the signage marking the beginning and ending of the 10 Freeway, in line with California road tagging guidelines. osm.wiki/California/2022_Highway_Classification_Guidelines#Motorway Please revert your edits so they once again match the guidelines I linked to.

What was your logic for making this change to Otis Street?

What was your logic for making this change to State Street?

I think it's best to keep buildings with a demolished tag in OpenStreetMap while they appear in any of the available satellite imagery, rather than deleting them. Keeping buildings with a demolished tag in OSM may help prevent another user from adding demolished buildings because they appear in available satellite imagery.

Added park info & paths, added church, edited bus relation to correct route

My GPS trace was made by driving through on the left lane where there are 2 lanes, then in the through lane where there are three/four lanes. My edits are a better way to represent the geometry of the motorway exit than showing a line that turns sharply right.

also added demolished:building tags where necessary

I also removed recently added duplicate info from a Home Depot. Most of the information was already present in another way that is the outline of the entire store complex, not just the building.

Not Jordan Downs; Jordan Downs is in Watts & I edited there a week ago.

I couldn't find any record of a road named South Van Ness Place around 54th Street. Both the county assessor property search website & L.A. city ZIMAS say properties north of 54th have addresses on Arlington Avenue & properties south of 54th have addresses on South Van Ness Avenue. Street signs in the area support the extent of the roads & the correct suffix of South Van Ness is avenue, not place.

I prioritized connections to neighboring cities, speed limits, and minimizing adjacent roads of the same class in making changes to Cudahy's road hierarchy. This is why Clara Street and Santa Ana Street (east of Atlantic Avenue) are tertiary roads, while Santa Ana Street (west of Atlantic Avenue) is a secondary road and I downgraded Elizabeth Street to residential.

While Santa Ana Street east of Atlantic Avenue looks like a tertiary stub, I think it's important to have it marked as tertiary to reflect its higher speed limit (30 mph) and connecting a city park to a primary road & a secondary road.

Main Street in downtown Los Angeles, that is.

osm.wiki/California/2022_Highway_Classification_Guidelines#Urban_expressways These guidelines recommend tagging the westernmost portion of CA 90, between CA 1 (Lincoln Boulevard) and Mindanao Way, as "Trunk + expressway=yes" because that segment "[c]onnects Marina del Rey to freeway network." Trunk roads don't necessarily have to connect with other trunk roads or motorways.

I also removed the name and ref tag from a primary_link because it was erroneously tagged

Now that I noticed you also retagged the Marina Expressway as highway=primary, the tagging of these ways (13374200, 1302677241, 123561792, 398203285, 596884162, 596884160, 398203300, & 403844704) should also be reverted to what they were previously, highway=trunk or highway=trunk_link.

Additionally, the names of the ways listed in my previous comment and this comment should be reverted to what they were before your edits.

Hello, this is in regard to ways 149009289, 27957694, 1456823420, 1456823421, 1420834778, 1076071603, 405301763, 405301759, 149009278, 405301754, & 1051244296.

The highway=* tagging on these ways should be reverted to highway=motorway and (where appropriate) highway=motorway_link. Additionally, access_control=* tags should be removed, as highway=motorway tags make access_control=* tags redundant. These ways represent the eastern terminus of the Marina Freeway and they should be tagged as motorways all the way to and from Slauson Boulevard. See the tagging of the western terminus of the Marina Freeway as an example of how to do it.

I also reclassified the eastbound segment of Olympic Boulevard, between 10th Street and 11 Street, to highway=primary match the tagging of the corresponding westbound segment of Olympic Boulevard
