On OSM we map what's on the ground, railway=abandoned is specifically for sections where there is evidence of it existing today. If you want to map historical routes, I recommend checking out OpenHistoricalMap

Welcome to OSM, and thanks for your contributions. A lot of road data in the US has been untouched since it was imported from TIGER in 2007/2008. You will often find roads that were planned but never actually existed, or unmaintained/abandoned roads. In these cases it looks like the roads exist in some form but are probably not navigable by cars. Please take a look at the wiki page for abandoned roads: abandoned:highway=* . This looks good, but gnis:created is for a specific database from the US government, which describes place names. It's not for when the object was created in OSM - luckily, that is tracked already for us :). I went ahead and removed the GNIS-related tags because the thing they were documenting is no longer there. Happy mapping!

The commercial area probably shouldn't have the restaurant attributes on it. Those should only go on the building or on a node inside of the building.
