If a road is closed for a short period of time, it's generally not mapped on OSM. You can read about how to properly map roads under construction here: highway=construction

Where is the requirement that sidewalks are "present at streetside?" How far away do you consider acceptable for sidewalks?

Hi, please don't add foot=no unless it is illegal to walk on the road AND no sidewalk is present. You can instead add an appropriate sidewalk tag to the road (in this case it would be sidewalk:right=separate)

Yes, since most of them seemed to be the result of selecting random options in the mapping app they used I chose to revert all of them.

It looks like you have changed the building outline to only match the Coffee shop, but from Bing streetview it looks like there are many shops in this building. Please fix the building outline and use a node to mark information about the coffee shop. Happy to help with this if you need more assistance!
