Changeset When Comment

> For me it's clear, I used layer Strava and Sentinel to add paths.

Well, saying that would be a start.
The reason that I'm asking about sources is twofold - one is that Strava can be quite unreliable - although it'll show you a rough route from A to B, it will seem to "cut corners" because each trace is just a series of dots. The other is that the sentinel imagery that I can see in JOSM (such as "EOx cloudless Sentinel-2 2021") is very poor quality. Comparing that with Bing at osm.org/#map=18/-14.87550/-46.99489 shows the problem.
Your changeset comment says "Sentinel 2022 "; what is the URL for that?

Great - thanks for that!

Hello NastassiaKalesnikava,
What was the source of the name used here? The previous changeset to way/1080115986/history mentioned "Adjusted position of the library, removed fictitious name".
Are you sure that the name was (a) truthful (not something that someone had made up) and (b) not obtained from a source that is incompatible with OSM's licence?
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
way/769452882 is part of the London LOOP, but as mapped there is currently no way of getting from it to the A22. The other bit of the LOOP is way/769452879 , and as mapped there's no way of getting from the southern and of that to the A22 either. Preumably these do actually join up?

Mentioning this edit to data consumers of this tag would have been a good idea, so that they could check whether you were going to break their rendering.

Without me going through each one one at a time were these all "historic=menhir" that were changed to "site_type=megalith"?

Thanks!

Hello again.
Here you've changed the name of something with a changeset description of just "correcting name" with no information about the source used. You've also changed the website from a very specific one to some general one for some university department or other?
In osm.org/user_blocks/6746 you were explicitly asked to "use changeset comments that explain the changes that you are making". Please explain those here.
Best Regards,
Andy

What is your source that this entire way/374580214 is called "Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail"?
It's surely part of the Pacific Crest Trail _route_, but that doesn't mean that every individual way along that trail has that name.
I've never been near this bit of the PCT but the northern bits I've seen don't have any ways actually called "Pacific Crest Trail" (though the route is often signed).
If something doesn't have a name, is OK to not give it one in OSM: osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only .

@Xavier Fabiani Thanks for replying to various questions asked at https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=10479809 , including here,
Since there seem to be different views about what some places are called, perhaps a way to resolve it would be to post a photo of the street name(s) somewhere, for example of way/1107952472/history ?
In this case, a picture would also help to see which of unclassified / service / pedestrian and footway was best: https://osm.mapki.com/history/way/1107952472 .

@Friendly_Ghost Quoting myself directly from Discord: "Not that there's any point in having garmin_type in OSM, but equally removing it does nothing useful either."
Are you being a pillock for a hobby or do you see it as some sort of long-term career?
Please don't misrepresent people's views like this.
On the subject of the data, I suggested that you might want to discuss whether the automatic removal of this data by editors was or was not a good idea. That would still be the best way forward, but it would require you to act as part of a community rather than someone who "thinks that the always know best", despite having relatively little experience of this sort of thing.
This isn't the first time you've got into trouble for this attitude:
@Friendly_Ghost/blocks and it's a shame that you don't seem to be learning.

What was the source of your change to way/210836911/history ? Have you visited the area?

Thanks - someone's already added the "beer_garden=yes" tag so I'll just remove the picnic site one.

Hello,
(apologies for asking about something from 13 years ago)
I don't know if you can remember, but is the tagging on node/588828362 OK? It's both "amenity=pub" and "tourism=picnic_site". Is it perhaps "a pub with a picnic site nearby", or something else?
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
I was looking through some outlier "trail_visibility" values in UK/IE and found "4" on way/840443950 . I first thought maybe it was supposed to be a "tracktype", but the comment on the changeset is "changed footpath visibility" so I'm not sure?

Andy

Odd thought it sounds, "Standingstone Farm" probably IS the name of the archaeological site (if not actually the stone itself), per the linked https://canmore.org.uk/site/56405/standingstone-farm .

131248412

Also, using any of the available imagery in iD, I think that you have the northern part of way/1131826557 join the road in the wrong place.

131248412

Can you please use more descriptive changeset comments than just "mapping with Strava and Sentinel 2022"?
Say what sort of things you are adding and what sort of information from Strava and what other imagery you're using before adding anything.

... because the problems that I happen to have spotted locally to me are likely not the totality of the problems in these changes.
Another one was way/121715813/history (I see you've changed that now to recreation_ground - that makes more sense, although most of that shape really is pitch, regardless of the shape (just look at the way that it's mown).
There will surely be others though...

The OEG has an "Informing the community" section - where did the post about the "Profanity cleaning" activity go?
