@cmoffroad At the time of this edit this mapper had been active for a couple of weeks and this was their 16th edit. "Please refrain from changing any major road and kindly revert your changes" is completely out of order - I think you owe them an apology.

Hello ospram,

I hope you don't mind me asking about an edit from 10 years ago. On this changeset you added a "source=Google" tag on node/1743317199 here. We can't actually use that as a source in OSM because the Google's licence doesn't allow it to be used here - it would cause real problems for the project if we were found to be using Google Maps as a source.
If this is somewhere that you are familiar with, then "source=local_knowledge" would be perfectly OK.

I hope you don't mind me asking about an edit from 5 years ago. On this changeset you added a "source=Google" tag on node/2467556010 here.

在此變更集中,您在 node/2383851107 上添加了“source=Google”標籤。
如果這是您熟悉的地方,那麼“source=local_knowledge”就可以了。

これがあなたが精通している場所であれば、「source=local_knowledge」は完全にOKです。

Following confirmation that the information is not public, I've redacted the relevant edit.

As of now, there is no "Mustafa's World" left. I've manually tidied up some of the rough edges, but there's more to do, especially in Erbil.
There have been several earlier problems in this area - see changeset/105711740 .

I'm not sure what happened here, but it looks like you accidentally edited the Tajikistan border instead of whatever it was that you tried to edit (perhaps way/808824069 , which is very close to the border).
Best Regards,
Andy

I've reverted this in relation/214626 .

I fully appreciate that there are people who try to draw that line (most notably the leader of the country that has just illegally invaded yours), but it doesn't make sense to do so.

121186953

I think you'd struggle to draw a line between the proto-states existing in the late 800s and any modern state. Cities are still where they were (Kyiv, Novgorod, Lviv) but the states they are part of now are completely different entities compared to what was there then.

The actual change here was to remove some tags including "old_name" (and old_name language tags) that seemed at best to not tell the whole story (which is extremely complicated and contested).
Presumably the edits were motivated by Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine in 2022, but I doubt that the "Evil minds that plot destruction*" in this case are monitoring changes to old_name tags in OSM.

I don't think that the "old_name" (and old_name:ru) change makes a lot of sense here?
"Ρωσία" clearly isn't an old_name:ru because it's Greek rather than Russian; and also I'd always thought (and wikipedia agrees) that the root of "Rus" was the same as the root of the Finnish for Sweden ("Ruotsi").
