Changeset When Comment

(following up a reply received by private message)

It's important to reply to a public changeset discussion comment in the changeset discussion itself, so that everyone who can see the original question can also see the answer.

A reply to a public message in a private messaging app such as Telegram is also not good, because only a few people will be able to see it.

Please reply here.

I was just a bit surprised that you'd be able to set the "tracktype" from that.

107276082

... and of course you still need to do the things that you were asked to do at osm.org/user_blocks/5479 .

Hello VARVAR8,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately the scale of the problem is such that I don't think that it's physically possible for you do do that.
An overpass query http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1dvN covers a relatively small area of Ukraine and includes 1332 ways all added by you with an unfeasible tracktype. Many, like the example above, will presumably not be tracks at all but have multiple problems - not only has the wrong sort of feature been added, but in the wrong place (there's a clear offset between whatever poor-quality imagery that MapWithAI is using and the best available at osm.org).

> As you can see from my previous sets, I later revise the lines I have implemented and, if necessary, correct them

What I can see from your later edits is that you only "correct" very few problems and still miss lots of errors.

Can you please explain what process you are going to use to fix the errors that you have created. If you can't explain that effectively, we'll have no option to revert your erroneous additions (to be clear, the DWG has had a number of requests from the community in Ukraine asking us to do this).
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
Can you explain what your source of the tags on way/960173443/history was? There is no useful information in the changeset comment that might explain how you thought that it was a highway=track, never mind tracktype=grade3. Looking at the imagery, and especially the geometry of the nearby ways, it looks more like a waterway=stream than a highway=track, and the tracktype=grade3 is pure fantasy.
Please explain the process by which you added it.
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
You've added way/972101687/history as a "highway=track; tracktype=grade3" here, but looking at the underlying imagery, this looks like a complete fantasy. There is little on the Maxar imagery that would suggest any sort of track; how you managed to determine that it was "tracktype=grade3" I have no idea.
It's looking increasingly like we'll need to delete all of your additions of this type, but please follow the advice at osm.org/user_blocks/5479 first.
Best Regards,
Andy (from OSM's Data Working Group)

way/972101460/history was added as a grade3 track, and then changed to a stream!
Can you explain what happened here?

Hello VARVAR8,
Your changeset comment here is "#Kaart OSM Inspector. Approximate ways fixes [te.ua]". Can you explain what that means?
What sort of issues were you using OSM Inspector to detect, and once it had found one, what on-the-ground sources were you using to detect what was actually correct?
What does "Approximate ways fixes" mean? Does it mean that you're doing half a job now and are going to finish it later, or someone else had done half a job, and you are finishing their work?
What does "[te.ua]" mean?
Best Regards,
Andy
