Hi SearchAroundBot,
Please don't add test data to the live OSM database. If you want to add (and delete) test data, use a dev server such as http://api06.dev.openstreetmap.org/ instead.
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OpenStreetMap's Data Working Group.

Nothing in York happens that early in the morning. :)
The website suggests 10:00-16:00, which seems far more plausible.
It's a bit of a stretch to make it a separate POI from the convent, really (though it is distinct from the school now I believe).

Oops - something went a bit wrong here. "highway=primary" got added to Liwonde National Park (presumably by accident). Are the other two primary highways in this changeset also definitely primary? One is a river and one is unconnected, so it seems unlikely.
(for info I noticed this after looking at https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/51626/please-revert-change , which is an unrelated problem with the same national park).
Hope you don't mind me mentioning this; just trying to help. any questions please get in touch.
Best Regards,
Andy

This isn't "Fixed spacing in the node of Addis Abeba.", it's changing the name of node/321732075/history from English to Amharic (which may make sense of course - but it's not what the comment says)!

You've added node/4357782894/history as railway=station , yet it's still under construction. Have a look at osm.wiki/Comparison_of_life_cycle_concepts and see if a lifecycle prefix would make sense.

Thanks

Interesting - I've seen a couple of those, but was never really sure whether to map them as gates or stiles!

If people call it "Bridle Path" then I guess that's as good a name as any. :)
There's also a "loc_name" tag (see for example http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org.uk/tags/loc_name=Ring%20Road ) that might be useful to indicate that a name is a local name, but not an official one.

Thanks. See https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2016-August/thread.html#19100 for discussion about the other one BTW.

@staytuned You haven't explained why the tagging on these "abandoned villages" is correct (like I asked on
osm.org/user_blocks/1001 ).
Generally speaking, the use of lifecycle keys makes sense, but you have to know that the object that you're changing is actually one of the things that you're changing the tag for, as I explained on osm.org/user_blocks/1001 the original tagging seems incorrect.
Was your edit purely mechanical and you did not checking at all, or did you do some checking and just got some wrong?

You've changed Sainsbury's here to "Sainsapple". This seems like an unusual name; are you sure it is correct?

41396826

I've reverted it (apart from the Norwegian end that someone has already edited). The licence is clearly incompatible with OSM.

For info, see note/678940 .

Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
I see that you've given way/435428570 a name of "Bridle Path". This might be it's name (I can think of a couple of paths near me called things like "Bridle Road") but it might be just that it's a public bridleway (with a "public bridleway" sign at each end). If that's the case then you can add a "designation" tag to say "designation=public_bridleway". that way maps that display public bridleways differently can know that this really is a public bridleway. If it is a public bridleway, then I'd also add the tags "foot=yes" and "horse=yes" to make it clear that it's accessable by those modes of transport.
Anyway, hope you don't mind me mentioning this, just trying to help - if you've got any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Best Regards,
Andy

Hi, you've added the name "Definitive Bridleway GARFORTH 34" to way/316611295/history here. I suspect that that is not actually the name of the path itself, but the PROW reference for it. Assuming it is a public bridleway I'd add a "designation=public_bridleway" tag, and would add the PROW reference to a "prow_ref" tag like these: http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/hWz .

Ten sklep nie jest w połowie drogi - Szedłem za końcem drogi ostatniej nocy. Tak więc, czy mógłbyś wykorzystać elementy poprawnie, więc nie ktoś inny, nie musi to naprawić?

Alex,
No-one is "consciously trolling" you. "Please engage with the community first if you want to suggest changes to the current way of working" is very sensible advice in all sorts of circumstances in OSM - there's a lot of latent knowledge, not all of it written down - for example I'd say that about half of all first posts to the "imports" list are met with exactly that response.

Andy

Hi Alex,
We (the Data Working Group) have had another complaint about "autoreplies" to changeset discussion comments. Whilst it's perfectly normal that not everyone will be able to respond to every changeset discussion comment immediately, using an "autoreply" like this just makes it look like you're deliberately ignoring people. Please don't do it.
As I suggested before, the talk-gb list https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2016-August/thread.html is probably the best place to discuss GB admin level and place mapping. It may be that you need a bit of time to reply (which is fine, life sometimes gets in the way) but please turn off the autoreply.
Best Regards,
Andy

I'd add name:ti back here (to the same value as the name), yes.
