Hello sltyu03 and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
If you're wondering what this email is about it's about some OpenStreetMap edits you did back in June (along with the rest of a class?). We're trying to get in touch with the person who was teaching the class so if you can remember who that was it'd be great if you could let us know - we're just trying to help people running classes like this help people like you get started with OpenStreetMap easier. If you can help you (or they) can email data@osmfoundation.org .
Best Regards,
Andy (from OSM's Data Working Group)

Hello,
Please don't add test data to the live OpenStreetMap Server. If you want a test server, perhaps https://master.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org/ would work for you?

Well (the chemists) was shut when I was there. It looks like a new mapper added the "hospital". They've only been mapping for a couple of days so I'll let them get their feet under the table before pinging them with questions :)

53944848

Thanks for trying to help, but maybe the best way to find out what the mapper intended is to actually ask them? In this case "tanning" is on page 13 of 860 of https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/shop#values - it's far from a "long tail" value (and there's nothing wrong with "long tail" values, if there's nothing better to convey the same meaning in a more poplar tag).
As I said at the top, changing one value to another without any checking (like here where you just assumed that "tag X meant the same as tag Y") is inherently a mechanical edit, and those do need to be discussed as per osm.wiki/Automated_edits .

> Can you please explain why you
> invent tags for yourself with capitals ...
No, "shop=tanning" - the "T" was just a typo.
> ... add a 'shop' without address,
> website or what so ever...
When I walked past it was dark. Funnily enough the website (if there is one) was not printed on the front of the shop.
> My tagging is according to the wiki
> and the rules that are set out in there
The wiki is designed to document how people map things, not tell people how to map things.

Andy

Unfortunately it looks like you "corrected" self intersections in some Pokemon doodles here :)

I don't think that the chemists in Clipstone was ever a hospital was it? way/541972384/history

Er - I've no idea why you're saying 'please click "save" on it if you agree'. If you've added a wikidata tag in error (as appears to be the case here) just remove it. There is no need to have "made a task for this".

Is the path way/99777062/history designated as a public footpath for the whole length? Is any stretch beyond it if any is designated? There was/is a fixme node at node/1153360498 .

53930341

Also, from memory, aren't bits of way/16521029/history visible (as openings onto the tunnel) from the street?

53930341

Just checking - have you actually surveyed these? Some have been changed from abandoned to razed; some from dismantled from abandoned. way/229069543/history for example has a note on it saying that that nothing's visible from the path; are you now saying that something is?

53944848

Er no, not a "shop=beauty". Please don't mechanically edit things that are not simple typos.

Hello,
Thanks for deleting the "Sri Lankan buildings" in the middle of the Atlantic. As well as those though the Atlas buoy node/3815077900/history also got deleted. I've undeleted it.
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
I think that something went a bit wrong here - it looks like you added some buildings in the middle ot the Atlantic here.
Someone's deleted them now.
Best Regards,
Andy

The wikidata entry for node/255467667 looks wrong to me. The link is to the wikidata entry for the character, not to the statue itself.
