Following up on the talk-nz discussion, it's pretty clear there that there's a majority in favour of using macrons vs not using macrons in the "name" field there. Not 100% to be sure, and has as also been noted there not all contributions are from New Zealand - but enough are to make the discussion useful, I think.

Your changeset comment here is just "fixed" - that doesn't really help people understand what you're trying to do. Since your change Somaliland is no longer a valid polygon - https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1d1b shows an extra bit that wasn't there a few days ago at https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1d1c .
If this all sounds a bit complicated don't worry - please just explain what you're trying to do and someone will be able to help.

One possibility - maybe "loc_name" osm.wiki/Names#Local_names_.28loc_name.29 might be appropriate, if everyone locally really does call it that?

A couple of key things about OpenStreetMap are osm.wiki/Verifiability and osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only - you can't just make up names for things. If there's a sign that everyone can use to know that that really is the name - great. If there isn't then "name" shouldn't be set to that.

Just to let you know, you don't need to concatenate all of the route names into the "name" field of each way that makes up a route like this. Lots of maps show the routes without being named like this; probably the most popular is https://hiking.waymarkedtrails.org/#?map=17!51.5156!-0.4897 where there's a nice button that you can use to highlight each route separately.

For info, what seems to have been happening here is that we think that a bunch of people are being paid to update mall POIs - nothing wrong with that per se, but these people are doing a really terrible job of it. As well as the info in OSM (blocks etc.) there's also a thread in OSM US' Slack https://osmus.slack.com/archives/CCJ2P6KCH/p1636558263041300?thread_ts=1635942793.029300&cid=CCJ2P6KCH .
Thanks for fixing this properly in changeset/113742401 with clear source information, so that the next time it gets a "random edit" that looks a bit odd, we've got something solid to go back to.

@SekeRob I suspect that what's happened here is that OsmAnd is set to only upload chnangesets at certain times - perhaps the author of the change doesn't have active SIM card data in both Italy and the UK (OsmAnd is a mobile phone editor, of course).

Nodes accidentally moved to null island removed in changeset/113729037 .

Thanks fir updating the map! Just one thing - you don't need to use the name "house" to say that a building is a house - the tags that get added ("building=house") automatically do that.

Sorry about the large bounding box here - it made sense to revert all of these contributions in one go. It is just Italy and Nauru.
