3D Bing Sat image of the RAC NW of Chieti Scalo where it splits pointing left lane SS5 and right lane A25. Those markers are fresh paint.

Hi,

Plz see pictures taken on 06-03-2026 at various points between 216.6 and 241km along the ol Tiburtina Valeria (Don't know where the rest of the conversation went when you proposed to move SR5 to a reg_ref like tag, but the one appearing on the regular map is where the 'ref' tag applies.

At about 222 junction near the Megalo

At about 217.5, where you can see the sign had a black S put on (it's always between like that, also my old cloud archive photos from 2021 shows this.

At about 228 just before the Pescara Ovest motorway entrance:

In Santa Teresa connection between the SS602 and SS5 from both directions:

Every single sign and massive road markings on the RAC between Pescara and Chieti it says SS5 Tiburtina or SS5 Popoli.

All hectometer markers from 216.6 i.e. 216.VI have been gone since long i.e. one can only go by the direction and destination signs.

As written before about the OSM 'on the ground' rule (wiki has just been refreshed) and the short-circuited brainwave of some penpushers, the reversal back to SS5 between any KM between Pescara Porta Nuova and Pratola Preligna is overdue. You can undo your edits or I'll bring in the howitzer reversing tool of JOSM. Where SR5 goes I frankly don't care. It was a paper excersize and far as I remember the story, they did not know how fast to reverse when they realized what the overeagerness would result in.

Just 1 new roundabout used by 7 routes like the SS16, and long distance flixbuses causing the perverted BBox size. Sorry.

Looks like a 6th partition is needed, Via Bugiardi a good candidate as a lead along which to split this wood with at least 100 more inner areas to map.

Hi forcella

Please stop mapping ways on top of existing ways (are you importing???). Use the existing ways and add the hiking route relation to those. gscholz and I have been repairing, You can see for instance route 937 which has parts shared with 2 other routes. If you don't know how, ask on the Italian community forum at https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/communities/it/60
cheers 6 happy mapping

Have changed apron2 to surface=asphalt;concrete where the previous values look like another language {Dutch, German?) The system says there can only be 1 surface value. I can actually go there and see from the side terminal entrance where the gate is always open, public access to rental and parking's. The runway extention of 380 meters has not been opened/commissioned yet. Definitely concrete.

178021552

Hi,
Apron 1 shows correct with concrete, but apron 2 still has beton in the multi value.

Hi,
Flagged by QA.... beton is concrete in OSM global speak. Pls correct.

Hi,

An observation made last week when something needed fixing here. If seeing it right when you have multiple 'inner' areas sharing sides in e.g. a wood you draw a new outline around those inner areas and make that the inner as kind of an envelope, This is not needed since years as learned from a French mapper and later confirmed by Minh Nguyen, the preeminent OSM guru. Try it, just make all of them directly inner and the software will compute an outline around them in the render process. 1 exception. The 'inner' object must have at least 2 nodes directly facing the 'outer' area. It works but the analysis tools go on tilt for that inner-inner area so I'm still mapping ring around those make that inner but it's needed rarely. Here's a link to an example just done today with 4 sidesharing inner areas inside a larger scrub zone relation/20142671#map=17/41.583563/14.634116
No scrub symbols on the individual areas inside.
Happy mapping.

Included removal of an old tagless line.

Well, the render issue is resolved \o/ in multiple forest compartments.

No idea what you're on about, meantime the drystream tag value is discouraged, and practically out of use since mid 2024, so it will be a revert to stream+intermittent, I.E. the original tags.

Hi, the mapper PMd me about this but did not read until Osmose started flagging unconnected waterways. I already commented on his CS where neisbot queried. I suggested changing to the last week discovered drystream tag. He changed most he had not deleted yet to that and redrew some that were deleted, not all, also tagging those with drystream. Obviously the history of my efforts are now lost for those deleted. I'll see what gets flagged on the Saturday revert report, told them of me plan, undelete those with JOSM and transfer the new tag value over. Fact is, those waterways are real albeit only carry water when it rains and the snow melt season in spring ergo intermittent=yes. Though most are not more than ditch deep usually filled with rocks, some were changed to valley, in places now 2 valleys side by side as valleys were mapped in past. Now there are valleys when there isn't.
I use JOSM NOAA EOSDIS plug in for elevation which includes LIDAR readings for Europe which greatly helps interpreting the lay of the land in mountainous areas so I know the Streams I did are mapped accurately.
Many streams disappear at some point, the strata very porous so those have a stream end tag on the last node and of course the now orphaned nodes with those.
An arduous process for me and very unhappy about these proceedings.

After reviewing a few, I'm actually astounded this has been done prior to discussion. I'd like this to be reversed. The tagging can be updated such as this noted drystream tag as a mtb biker rider commented to me, any fords even when wet do not need to wade thru or get off the bike, but the landscape features and why they came to exist are real,

177513034

Hello. Following your After he Fact PM, not agreed upon prior to. Those indentations in the landscape are from water erosion, We have the tag drystream for these I've recently learned. https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/waterway=drystream

Hi, is that building 1170 meters high, as that is the value you entered, taller than the Burj Khalifa of 828. Maybe you read it somewhere in mm and. meant.11.70 m with decimal point? Also while correcting could you add building:levels which I guess with 12 meter is 2 or 3, class rooms usually higher than regular 3 meters.

Correction, it's really a false positive Geofabrik/OSMI issue.

177080935

This route makes no sense to me. As large sections are routed as were it a roundtrip route, yet there's sections making use of larger oneway roads WITHOUT a return way. such as at the west end Caserta bus station. Also bus stops are related both sides of the road and one stop is not at the route.

Hi, you changed the forest cutlines, I. e. the way represenring the space m
made in the forsst
thru which the power lines are constructed into the power lines. No, those have to be mapped separately with nodes where the real power towers/poles are, which is often very difficult to see in aerials. I'll be reverting your change. Then you can map the wires separately.
