Well spotted! Looking at the history, the old note always been in that rough vicinity. Looks like it was never moved whenever the Post Office closed beside what's now M&S (previously Co-op as I remember, but I don't remember the Post Office there). I'll shift the old node over to the current location in order to keep its history, consolidate any info from my one, and then delete the newer node.

Yes, the distance quoted in that doc against "Dam Walk" suggests inclusion of the entire distance from Main Street (currently labelled Derinilla Lane) to Moneylane Road. Having looked at some non-free streetlevel imagery in the area for backup (the current free items offer no help), I note that, pre-July 2023, the entrance to Derinilla Lane was simultaneously labelled "The Dam Lane, and also "Derinilla Lane leading to The Dam Lane". These signs are subsequently painted over in July 2023, but I don't know what's present now. Perhaps if these have changed from their original text, they might offer some clarity? (Or none at all of course!) I don't suppose you're somewhere nearby?

If signage has continued to display Derinilla Lane and The Dam Lane, I'm inclined to give those names credence and provide the unsigned "Dam Walk" as the alt_name... which might then dictate a similar approach for Walsh's Lane, for consistency if nothing else?

I see you tagged way/231512205/history/4 with the name Dam Lane, and note/3162393 suggests the name Walsh's Lane. Would you have any input or preference here? I wasn't sure what the source might have been for Dam Lane.

Ah, that's fair (if unfortunate!) - I'm sure it's a lovely spot. I was only really checking as there's a note/576500 nearby that had been opened 10 years ago, to say the path was closed, but there'd been a few edits since then (yours being the last) so I wasn't certain what the story was. Thanks for confirming.

Hi ramthelinefeed, I see a couple of years ago you created relation/17712258 and relation/17712369. Since then, note/4910984 has been created by a anonymous user suggesting that the track between Green Road and Ardmore Road doesn't connect. A cursory check on streetview doesn't show a track in that position, biut imagery is from 2011.

Would you mind confirming? It might be that the track needs to be truncated, and the walking and cycle routes removed from that stretch.

I've consolidated the extra data you had added to node/13329406661 into the existing school area (way/246882109), which already contained some of the addresses and contact details. Also removed address details from the shool building polygon in version way/804965004/history/5

Best to avoid mapping duplicate entries, only one object should contain the school details, otherwise it creates confusion in GPS and for end users of the map data.

Actually amenity=parcel_locker is for physical unmanned lockers. Accepted tagging practice is to add post_office:parcel_pickup to the shop in question, which is the vape shop. So I've updated accordingly and removed the postbox node. Thanks for mapping though kevinmcg, and thanks victorIE for pointing out the tag error.

Thanks @VictorIE, yes the fixme still has some relevance as the satellite imagery hasn't been updated to allow proper checks and alignments, but hopefully if the constrution area can remain in place until imagery is updated, that will serve as enough of an aide-memoire. And yes I agree on the access=private, I'm not sure why it needed to be access=no, unless it was a hangover from construction (some mappers add access=no to highway=construction, I try to remove it as it's unnecessary and results in this sort of thing).

I'd say so if the imagery looks normal – I didn't add them originally, and probably missed them in my edits, but I know the houses on these streets have been rebuilt in the past 10 years. Work away 😊
