Great to read about, good luck! I would also suggest that you also route on osm.wiki/Tag:area:highway=footway?uselang=en which. I have been using to map larger areas with surface=paving_stones, inbetween public buildings etc.

@imagico I wrote that out of frustration on outdated information, I vaguelly remember I got a snarky reply from someone in the community just about that Carto wouldn´t cover everything some years back when I first got in contact with OpenStreetMap as a project but I apologize if that is not the case. I will try to incorporate my lessons into Carto when I have learned more in the golfTiles project.
