I'm very familiar with that area. I used to live on Meridian in a condo by Gas Works Park.

The way is basically an alley with no signage preventing vehicles from using it. A pedestrian way would likely have some feature to prevent cars from using as well as signage.

FYI - look at the wiki you referenced for pedestrian highways. It should be a polygon (area), not a way. A good example of a pedestrian area is Red Square on UW. Unfortunately, we don't have any good routers that can route through a pedestrian way. Valhalla router has a Google Summer of Code project to add area routing. I can't wait.

According to county records this road is Sarkis Lane. Please do not removed verified features. While this road is privately maintained, it is still visible and can be mapped in OSM.

Definitely posting no trespassing like signs is a great step. Another suggestion would be to do as parks do, try to erase any sign of suggest paths.

Just removing the path isn't a good idea because someone seeing the path in imagery will just add it back.

Princeton Avenue is likely a highway=residential. Unclassified is basically the same thing, but typically found in rural areas. (We inherited highway classification from England where OSM got it's start)
