I’ve had similar discussion when looking for house numbers. I was asked “Are you allowed to do that?” or “What if I don’t wan’t that?”. I think this was not about security, but in Germany some people are afraid whenever they here that some data is collected. I was there thinking I do them a favour, but maybe not?
