Hi there, and welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I noticed you've been adding features related to fire stations.

You might find this tool convenient and useful for your project:

Hi @Fireman Francis

Thank you for you recent edits, and welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I noticed you've mapping out Fire stations and hydrants in your city, and this is one of the things we've been doing with other groups.

We've done so with Manila, GenSan, Davao, and San Juan city, and one of the goals is to work with fire stations in Metro Manila to enable them to have a complete map of essential amenities available offline, and for free.

Checkout all the hydrants and stations in the Philippines: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/wNO

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We'd love to work with you on this.

Hello there.

I noticed this unusual names in the objects you recently created. Are these street cabinets or comm towers?

Hello there.

May I know what #CTVS is? Is there any website about this program or activity?

Hi @DrElephant.

The OpenStreetMap convention is to retain as much usable data contributed by other mappers.

Instead of deleting objects, what you could do next time is to simply change the classification of the road.

So, for example, from highway=residential to highway=footway, if it's just a footpath.

This is awesome! Thank you for helping improve the map of your favorite neighbourhood.

Here's a tip: You don't have to put branch information on the proper name. For example, DTI Regional 3 office" is simply "Department of Trade and Industry", which will also keep the map tidy.

When you have a few minutes to spare, try the browser-based editor called iD, to edit the map of your community. You may find it quicker and easier if you need to update a lot of information on the map.

Hi @MarkClarenceAguilon.

I recently noticed your contributions to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Thank you! Kudos for using OpenStreetMap's to create a better map of your community. As you may know, your edit is immediately live in the main OSM (read it like "awesome" 😉) website as soon as they've been saved to the database, although other apps (e.g. OsmAnd, MagicEarth, Maps.Me, etc.) may take a few weeks (or months) to refresh their copies unless you do a manual update yourself.

When editing try to be mindful of what you're doing. It's quite easy to inadvertently move nodes and cause misalignment of roads like you did here:

Hello @Gerald Gomez

I recently noticed your contributions to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Thank you! Kudos for using OpenStreetMap's to create a better map of your community.

I noticed that you've been adding a lot of housenumbers. Do you know that there's a convenient app for that: osm.wiki/KeypadMapper ?

Hi @SEASALT.

I recently noticed your contributions to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Thank you! Kudos for using OpenStreetMap's to create a better map of your community.

With regard to this particular edit, the "camp site" tag is not necessary since you already tagged this object as a beach resort. The convention in OSM is: one feature, one element.

If you want to add details, you will have to create the appropriate feature for each, and not just lump them as one.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch. You might be doubtful about a particular tag, or would like to clarify their use. Or perhaps, you have ideas you want to flesh out to improve your neighbourhood map. Or maybe just want to know more about Openstreetmap.

Hi @Christian Earl Magpayo.

I noticed your recent edits, and I can deduce that you're working with a telecom outfit and adding new details to the map. Thank you!

However, kindly use the appropriate tag for the objects you're mapping and not random features like convenience stores, or bookmaker, etc.

OpenStreetMap has a rich lexicon of tags for many features. Street Cabinets, for example, used by telecom or cable companies may be tagged as man_made=street_cabinet + street_cabinet = telecom (if applicable.)

Hi @Skyboi. Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Please don't add the branch information in the name field. For example, name=Jollibee is enough, and not name=Jollibee North Triangle.

If you want to record that information use the branch tag: branch=North Triangle

When you have a few minutes to spare, try the browser-based editor called iD, to edit the map of your community. You may find it quicker and easier if you need to update a lot of information on the map.
