There's a lot of crap written in the wiki.
These two statements are on the welcome page:
"OpenStreetMap is a place for mapping things that are both real and current"
"What it doesn't include is *opinionated* data like ratings, historical or *hypothetical* features"

"it is highly likely that the pedestrian will want to cross" is pure subjectivity. No facts, No evidence.

Once again contributors are adding fantasy data to appease lazy, incompetent software writers.

As I previously pointed out, in Britain pedestrians can cross anywhere. That would mean you'll have to add crossings ever 100mm.

You misunderstand the purpose of routers. They *don't* dictate where someone /has/ to walk, merely suggest the direction to take. They do *not* prevent anyone from crossing the streets where they wish.

Subjectivity & guesswork have no place in OSM.

There is no such thing as jaywalking in the UK. Pedestrians can cross anywhere. You should only map actual physical objects, not your best guess of a situation. Please don;t tag inaccurately for routers.

It doesn't make it clearer as the commercial area does no extend to the centre of the roads. It makes it more inaccurate. This is poor mapping.

is this path not in use any more?

Hi
Welcome to OSM. Are all these shops completely destroyed. if the buildings are still there, use the prefix:
osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix

having a record of what they were is a useful reference if they reopen in the future.

There is no crossing here

This is circular:

There is no crossing here: node/25723436

Why have you detached this crossing from the footways
node/25723438

Why have you created a duplicating crossing:

Hi
way/57833100
Do not attached polygons to ways.

If the polygon has tagged nodes (such as barriers) they are also associated with the ways.

FYI There is already a railway station tag. All stations are mapped.

182576415

Placing it on top of station buildings clashes with that building's name label.

182303816

Please do not remove tags that have value for validation checks (disused:fhrs:id).

Hi
please don't place name tags for villages & small settlements where they clash with other objects.

You've made this just as bad by moving the road to an inaccurate location instead of moving the inaccurately placed house.
What background imagery are you using?

181525769

Does he have aliases as there seems to be a few 'contributors' who have the same style of editing (although this maybe the editor inducing it. I've always thought iD did more harm than good.)

Why have you erroneously amended data for this station:
node/5182456574

Where did you get the idea it was part of the Elizabeth Line?

180969272

What trains are stopping there? I thought it was just trams.

180850253

As the only reason platforms exist is for the public to walk on them a highway=foot is moot.
As you may notice combined with the area tag it causes osm-carto to render it different;ly.

Please provide more detailed changeset comments.

What erroneous dataset are you using for these railway station amendments?

Are you certain this is a cycleway? The pavements outside Boots look a bit narrow & from YT videos I can't spot cycle signage that side of the road.
