Hi — thanks for tidying up around the Houston House. I have moved the Texas Historical Commission marker tags (memorial=plaque, ref:US-TX:thc=5355, ref:hmdb) back onto node/12403574645 and left way/1534776326 as a plain building, in changeset/187508739.

The reasoning: memorial=plaque describes the plaque itself rather than the structure it is mounted on, so it does not really fit a building footprint — the way was also carrying support=pole alongside building=yes, which is what made it stand out. Keeping markers as nodes also matches how the other ~12,800 THC markers in Texas are mapped, and it lets the marker and the building each keep their own tags.

If you disagree or I have misread what you were doing, please say so and I will happily revisit it.

Hello, apartment complexes can be tricky but you’ve done a good job. I have a couple suggestions to improve your tagging.
- the buildings could be building=apartments, some advanced rages to use are building:levels=* to define the number of stories/levels and name=* if the apartment buildings are named like “Building 1” or something like that.
- It’s a bit confusing but building=garage is for a single unit, whereas building=garages is for a row or multiple units.
- the mailboxes can be tagged with amenity=letter_box. And just to be clear, if there is just a roof-like shelter over the boxes, and no walls, this is building=roof. Otherwise building=yes means completely closed in with walls and a door.

I think that are some options for you. But really you have the basics in place. Thanks for mapping and have fun! It can become addicting 😊
