Let me put it another way, why do you think that the people driving on Lawrence want to go to 85, and vis versa? Your bias is assuming that there is a link between the 2 roads.

Based on observed traffic in the area, I'd say that the Westgate complex is the actual destination. Large amounts of traffic coming from or to Quito are actually attending Prospect High School, Apple, Kaiser, or Nvidia. People using 85 in the area are typically going to use Cox, and use the southern part of Saratoga Ave without touching Lawrence. If you're on 85, you normally don't switch to the slower Lawrence Expy, unless traffic is blocked. You normally only take Saratoga Ave if you're going to the Westgate mall area, like to see a movie.

I say that there is a weak connection and continuation of traffic between 85 and Lawrence. The traffic isn't passing through the area. It's local traffic.

Have you actually driven or biked this road? Saratoga Ave is definitely not a part of a beltway or a trunk. That's what the expressways and freeways are for. Parts of Saratoga Ave have been purposefully narrowed to decrease the traffic speed and improve the accessibility to bikes.

By increasing it to the same categorization as an expressway, you're implying that it's inappropriate for bikes by default. It is a recognized bike route in the county.

While it connects, like many of the other roads, it is not a continuation of the county road G2. The continuation of county road G2 actually goes from Lawrence to Quito, which is even narrower and slower than either Lawrence or Saratoga. Saratoga is not a continuation of G2.

This segment of Saratoga is the same importance as the rest of Saratoga. It is not more important than the segment of Saratoga to the north.

Following your logic, you would actually be upgrading the entire section of Saratoga that connects between 280 and 85.

Saratoga has similar speed, number of lanes, and capacity as Prospect and Hamilton, Winchester, and Saratoga-Sunnyvale. I don't think "importance" is a quantifiable value, but the features of a road are quantifiable, including speed limit, lanes, bikability, and frequency of intersections.

Portions of 101 do drop from freeway (motorway) speeds to trunk speeds when it goes through farmland and no over-crossings. That classification difference does not decrease the importance.

Hi, I've reverted this changeset with changeset #182539724. The type of road depends on the capacity and road features. This is not a high speed expressway. It has uncontrolled intersections, and driveways. It is not a higher speed expressway that are like Lawrence and San Tomas. It is a continuation of the rest of Saratoga, which is also more bike friendly than Lawrence.

Lawrence does not continue. The capacity just fans out across Saratoga, and Quito.

Thanks. It looks much better.

It seemed wrong that it was both a furniture store and a place to play a sport. It seems to be a more accurate representation if it’s a sporting goods store that sells a set of specific sporting goods, which is what the current set of tags have now. I’m sure that this place sells things related to billiards that isn’t furniture.

171065987

Fair enough. I've switched it from a furniture store to a sporting goods store that sells billiards supplies. The previous combination was still wrong, and the new combination matches the documentation that you provided.

Yes, I removed the sport tag. I was following this quote from the Wiki documentation.
sport=*

> The sport=* tag is used to identify one or more sports which can be played within or on some physical feature.

Hi, it looks like you overlaid way/1425032096 (version 1) on top of way/298116730 (version 29). This has created conflicting overlapping information. They seem to be the same area.

Can you please only use one of these? Perhaps you can delete your new one (1425032096), and you can modify 298116730 to be what you used in your new area? That way the history of the object can be preserved.

Thank you for your consideration.

I say that the neighborhood to the west of Rancho Rinconda is Wilson Park.

Further west, it's probably City Center.
The authoritative one from Cupertino doesn't officially recognize an HOA for Wilson Park.

Thanks for fixing the access permissions.

FYI there should only be one value for zip codes. It should either be the 5 digit value or the 5 digit value with the optional extension.

Yeah I suspected that could be used. I’m thinking of using that further to the east where it’s more ambiguous. On this segment there are only addresses with Homestead. 2 out of 3 signs don’t use the cardinal direction.

Where it switches back to Sunnyvale is where I have to investigate further.

It’s confusing when one side of a sign uses one name and the other side uses a slightly different name.

Using alt_name seems appropriate for this segment at this time.

Thanks for the suggestion.

FYI the turn restrictions have been refined for the intersection of Vista Drive and Stevens Creek Boulevard. See changeset/169798177 for details.

The Santa Clara County Orthoimagery (Winter 2024) is more current too. This building isn’t there either.

164413513

This building no longer exists. It was demolished a while ago. Please see the Mapillary pictures for more recent imagery. I recommend reverting this change.

159551133

Thanks for your note and your consideration. If you're trying to get your address added to the map, you should add it to the building and tag it with address tags. If you're trying to allow people to find your address, it should not be as a name on a point on a road.

I have taken the liberty to put it on your house so that others can find it. See way/232396659 for details.

Thank you 😃

Please revert this change. Your change makes the name no longer match the street signs. The street signs say Wolf Road and doesn’t have the cardinal name North. Some property records do include North in the name, which is why that is the alternate name. Both names are valid, but name should reflect the ground truth when navigating.

Actually the roads are not under construction. Only the homes are under construction. Please revert this change. Please see recent Mapillary imagery for details.
