I can also confirm that the operator for line M is not exclusively Arriva, I have seen buses on the line operated by Autoguidovie and Locatelli.
All of them are part of the Bergamo Trasporti Sud consortium, which operates extra-urban lines south of Bergamo.
I should probably create wikidata entries for them.

Thank you for the info, I'd like to add that there is also non-realtime GTFS, for providing static timetables.
In Lombardy it's provided for Trenord trains at https://www.dati.lombardia.it/Mobilit-e-trasporti/Orario-Ferroviario-Regionale-Gtfs/3z4k-mxz9/about_data , but we have no such data for buses.
It seems odd to me that muoversi lombardia doesn't show you timetables at all.
I've seen that selecting a line directly doesn't show you anything, which is definitely a bug, but if you go under lines, enter the town and then search it will show the lines that stop in the town and they will have a button to download the timetable as a PDF.
It won't have stop positions but it has canonical stop names in chronological order.

They're different tools, "muoversi" just means "to move oneself" so it's a pretty generic name for a public transport info tool.

The fastest way to find bus timetables with the Lombardy one is to look them up by town or stop name, you only need to fill in one of the fields.

Thanks for linking to the mycicero tool, seems pretty handy.
The reason I'm proposing to use it as alt_name is because https://www.muoversi.regione.lombardia.it is (as far as i know) the "official" government source for public transport in Lombardy

It seems to have an alright naming scheme for not-quite-named stops near intersections (Town - Major road/minor road).
It could be adopted as alt_name, keeping the name in line with official timetables from the region

Sorry to bother you again, what is this Arriva tool you were speaking of?
Because I've found their map view (like this onehttps://bergamo.arriva.it/en/line/bergamo-mozzanica-crema/ ), but I'm fairly sure the stop icons are just the ones listed by Google Maps.

Oops, I just kind of assumed you were Italian because you were editing around here.
The thing is I'm pretty sure that while Arriva is handling digital ticketing and website timetables it's not the only operator in the consortium, last time I paid attention to it there was also at least AGI/Autoguidovie running buses on the line, so I'd rather revert to having the consortium's name (Bergamo Trasporti Sud SCARL) as operator once I'm home and do some bus spotting to re-confirm it's not just Arriva.
Arriva's timetable is also missing a bunch of stops in between the listed ones, https://www.muoversi.regione.lombardia.it is a better source, though not as good as a gtfs archive, I don't think we have those

I see what they're getting at, but I think i'm going to stick with area:footway=pedestrian until iD stops nagging about footway areas

169769131

I still think using pedestrian would be more appropriate since it's fairly wide and used for recreation.
I'm new to this, is there a designated place for getting a third opinion?

169769131

Footways shouldn't be areas so I think pedestrian is the most appropriate tag (even after checking parageph 3 of the wiki for Tag:highway=pedestrian)
