Leider sind die Tracks ziemlich schlecht geworden, obwohl die Bebauung im mittleren Teil der Frankenstraße gar nicht so hoch ist. Also irgendwann nochmal :-\

I'm going to take city bus from Reykjavík to Akranes today to map the aforementioned neighboring town of Reykjavík.

I'll arrive at 17:22 and stay there until sunday evening. The town is almost completely unmapped but hopefully I'll be able to completely map its road network as well as adding the main POIs. A camera will help with the latter.

Heute habe ich im Heuchelhof ein paar weitere Straßen gemappt. Nun sind die Bukarester Str., Budapester Str. (großteils), Moskauer Ring (teilweise) und einen Teil der Fußwege. Übrig bleiben westlich der Heuchelhofer Str. v.a. Fußwege.

Dann habe ich mich auch noch an den Übergang von der Nordtangente zur B27 gewagt. Dort habe ich einen Teil in 2 ways aufgeteilt, Auf- und Abfahrten etwas verschoben und angepasst. Außerdem habe ich die Routen korrigiert (hoffe richtig) und die Abfahrt von der Nordtangente hin Richtung Cinemaxx endlich richtig eingestellt. Außer einer Auffahrt sollte der Bereich nun in Ordnung sein.

Als kleinen Zusatz hab ich einen Fußweg zwischen der Nikolausstraße und Leistenstraße hinzugefügt.

Ich habe eine Kleine Runde gedreht, um das "Parkareal" zwischen Mühlenweg und Dehnckestraße zu vervollständigen. Ausserdem habe ich die Bushaltestelle Dehnckestraße in Richtung Mettehof hinzugefügt, zusammen mit dem dort vorhandenen Briefkasten und der Telefonzelle. Die gegenüberliegen Bushaltestelle fehlt noch.

Grundlage war mein Track "germany_kiel_dehncke_kronshagener_m_hlen.gpx".

Nachdem ich beim letzten Mal die nördlichen Stadtteile von Bremerhaven bearbeitet habe, habe ich mich jetzt mit den südlichen Stadtteilen Bremerhavens (Wulsdorf) befasst. Dieser dicht besiedelte Stadtteil war bis gestern noch ein weißer Fleck auf der Landkarte, inzwischen habe ich dort rund 90% der Straßen erfasst. Die restlichen 10%, die man vor Ort gerne übersieht, müssen dann eben beim nächsten Mal mit dem GPS-Logger erfasst werden.

Beim Aktualisieren der Karte habe ich nicht nur die fehlenden Fußwege und Radwege ergänzt, sondern auch einige Fehler entdeckt: der Fischereihafen in Bremerhaven ist mittlerweile zur Fußgängerzone umgebaut worden.

Kurz vor dem Jahreswechsel sind schätzungsweise 98% der Bremer und 70% der Bremerhavener Straßen erfasst. In den kleineren Städten schaut es noch düsterer aus: In Nordenham sind bislang schätzungsweise 30% der Straßen, in Langen bei Bremerhaven erst 5% der Straßen erfasst. Unter diesen Umständen ist es vollkommen unrealistisch zu behaupten, dass Deutschlands Straßen bis zum 31.12.2008 vollständig dargestellt werden. Das wird noch eine Weile dauern.

Heinzenwies und einige Wege im Königswald bei Herborn

Currently it's winter and a very bitter weather which makes cycling no fun. Actually I had planed to be finished with the streets in Jevenstedt by autumn, so I'm really behind the schedule.
Anyhow I have no motivation for this currently, because it would mean that I do everything by foot and that's no a pleasure, because one street takes at least ten minutes and it's becoming very unpleasant after one hour and galling if you stay out some hours longer. Maybe I'm a bit badly equipped with regard to clothing.
Additionally there currently a lot of tests and I work every often, so I have just a limited amount of time.
I hope I can start at full force in spring and get at least the streets into OpenStreetMap before I leave Jevenstedt in summer of next year. We will see.

Ich habe mal den Abzweig der Dehnckestraße hinzugefügt. Grundlage war mein Track test01.gpx. Außerdem hab ich Korrekturen an der Kreuzung Dehnckestraße - Kronshagener Weg vorgenommen. Die Dehnckestraße ist dort nämlich nicht komplett Einbahnstraße.

In order to get a route-planning service, they moved from their in-house map to a service provided by Microsoft Virtual Earth. This means that even if I could use the data to map bus locations (it's certainly a definite no-no now), the way it is configured makes it thoroughly complicated (you can't get a list of lines stopping at a certain stop anymore grrr). Also, I had been vaguely considering approaching the RTC and STM about whether their buses are equipped with GPSs (I'm fairly sure they are) and freeing that data for OSM, though I'm not clear I'd have gone about that, but the RTC data is now almost certainly locked in some sort of license agreement.

Hi all,
I revised my note and sent it off to the 45 users who have a wiki page, and see those 10 users who are arround me. my hopes is that this version is much nicer.
Does anyone know how to contact more users around?
My one idea is to use my settings and move my location to somewhere else, and then i will see another 10 closest users. I can do that in various places.
Is there another option?

i've just been u/l gpx files created by my sports tracker program on my Sony-Ericsson C702 mobile phone. then it occurred to me to u/l a track from a trip to East Taiwan created by my Garmin GPS and converted by Easy GPS. don't know if these are useful or not.

On holiday in Kidd's Beach so have just (11/12/2008) finished tracking roads here. There was absolutely nothing before I started, so perhaps this will give one of the local residents something to work with.

On tuesday I will start a 3 month jourey to South East Asia.
I will travel by bicycle from Bangkok to Laos and than to Burma.

There are many white areas on the map in these countrys.
My netbook will come with me and I will also improve my slippy map and my online dictionary.

Der Abriß der Brücke hat ja seit einige Zeit angefangen. Anfangs war es noch möglich, zu Fuß und mit dem Rad dort rüberzukommen, aber das geht seit dieser Woche nicht mehr. Der Rad- und Fußweg von der Abzweigung runter zur Gneisenaustraße bis zur Ampel Siligmüllerbrücke / Salvatorstraße wurde auch gleich gesperrt; man kommt nicht mehr bis zur Ampel.
Weil das die nächsten Jahre so bleiben wird, habe ich Brücke und Weg mit access=no getaggt.

Bei dem Versuch, einen legalen MTB-Trail auf den Schwedenstein zu finden, sind ein paar Tracks fürs Mappen entstanden (meine erste größere Mapping-Arbeit).
Jetzt fehlen dort nur noch wenige Fußwege und die Wanderweg-Relations.

Zwischendurch mal wieder ein bißchen Kleinkram auf der Würzburger Karte gemacht.
Beethoven-Center (allerdings noch ohne die Geschäfte), Bürgerspital (erstmal nur grobe Umrisse).
Und ein bißchen "fremdgemappt": Ein paar POIs in Heimbuchenthal im tiefen Spessart.
Eventuell würde ich im Frühjahr dort mal eine Mapping-Aktion machen, weil wir für eine Veranstaltung eine Karte von Heimbuchenthal und vielleicht auch Mespelbrunn brauchen.

Well got most of south Church Hill outlined, this is in Redditch. I tend to detour on the way to work to go round the various sections. Then upload the tracks as well. Now I need to change my route into work to take account of North Churchill. I had though to get a bicycle instead of using the car, but its december and I am lazy, so if you are in north church hill and you hear a car moving around in the early hours dont worry its just me mapping the area 8-).

I see Birmingham is close to completion now, I think they set themselves the target of before year end. Great work people.

Just updated Banyo somewhat. Removed the railway footbridge that's since been torn down, and went for a quasi-warwalk around the town centre to collect some street names.

Hope to update more often.

Also noted some street names around Banyo/Virginia while driving this afternoon. Made a few minor edits around the place. Even taught my mum how to name streets, although I think we may have messed up a road somewhere near Zillmere — Potlatch can be tricky sometimes.
