Perfect timing - doing a mapping tour to the village of Huttenheim (suburb of Philippsburg) today, i ran directly into the crowd celebrating the 250th anniversary of Huttenheim (and i thought first they're so happy because their nice village will soon appear on OSM ;-) ... ). On the way to Huttenheim, collected some OSBs (Openstreetbugs) in Liedolsheim.

ich komme aus Leipzig (Holzhausen) und bin noch relativ neu bei OSM. Darum würde ich gerne User aus der Umgebung kennen lernen.

Zu diesem Zweck konnte ich den Verein GEO Leipzig (www.geoleipzig.de) dazu bewegen, für
den 17.09.2008
um 18:00 Uhr

ein Meeting zu organisieren. Eine Agenda im eigentlichen Sinne gibt es nicht. Schön wäre es allerdings, wenn User, die bereits länger dabei sind, von ihren Erfahrungen berichten können. Ansonsten sollte jeder auf den Tisch legen können, was ihn bewegt oder einfach nur lauschen.

Falls jemand etwas vorstellen kann/möchte steht ein PC+Beamer zur Verfügung und für ein paar Erfrischungen sorgt der Verein.

Als Ort haben wir ein Beratungsraum bei der PC-Ware AG. Das ist in Leipzig-Heiterblich, Blochstrasse. Wer pc-ware in der Adreßsuche bei OSM eingibt, sollte die Lage angezeigt bekommen.

NEIN, es handelt sich um KEINE verdeckte Werbeveranstaltung, Kaffeefahrt oder so, sondern eine Mitarbeiterin dieses Unternehmens hat den Raum besorgt und ist selbst am Projekt interessiert. Darüber hinaus wurde die Koordinierungsstelle der GDI-Initiative-Sachsen beim Landesvermessungsamt eingeladen.

Today I traced a 5.5 km cycleway alongside the main road of 's-Graveland. (Also close to Ankeveen). This road follows in places a distinctly different path from the main road next to it and not so long ago a part of it is newly created. It contains a lot of bridges.

I traced this with osm-tracker.

Just finished adding some more residential roads to Kallangur and Deception Bay. A small observation: Someone needs to go up to North Lakes with a GPS and get all the new roads up there mapped, because the aerials are not up-to-date.

Am Besten auf den Stand von vor ein paar Tagen zurücksetzen. Und ich würde gern wissen, wer die Änderungen vorgenommen hat, damit ich denjenigen Anschreiben kann.
In der Mapnik-Ansicht sieht man noch, wie es aussehen müßte.

Ich habe es mit Potlatch versucht rückgängig zu machen, aber das Programm reagiert bei mir nicht.

I often spend my summer holidays there and began now tracing roads from Yahoo-imaging, adding items. I also have a few gps logger tracks from last year I used e.g. to trace the new part of the E-65. The tracks also proved that the Yahoo images match very well.
When hopefully again there next year, I will add names to roads and places and improve classification.
Update 26.09.08:
I've added plenty of data, trying out possibilities and getting used to JOSM and some handy plugins. I also begin to add buildings. Next time I'm there, I've plenty to check. :-)

Added some roads at Kingston, Marsden, and Loganlea. There is still a fair bit to do down there.

Have uploaded a few GPS traces of ROWs around or on the Roman road running from Cambridge toward Haverhill. Haven't used OSM til now, will see how this works before editing anything.

I am about to add another section to an existing street, and the dilema is that at the intersection itself it is one way exit onto a main street. But the street itself is two way the whole way along. It is just to prevent people from tying up the main road trying to make a left turn into it. How should I add it to the map? A short one-way stretch and then two way road again? That would break the street into 3 parts--the existing stretch, the intersection stub (it is really only a matter of a few feet in real distance, and then the remainder.

Im Moment schnorre ich einer Nachbarin ihr Navigon. Heute war's bedeckt, daher waren die Aufzeichnungen nicht sehr genau, aber im SW und um den OEG-Bahnhof rum konnte ich ein bisschen was ergänzen.

Trying to complete the Anninger. Ich versuche alle MTB Singletrails entsprechend zu taggen.

Hilfe gern erwuenscht. Hoffentlich ist in 2-3 Wochen der Anninger fertig.
Im Winter dann Rax und Schneeberg - alle Steilabfahrten....

This afternoon I up and went to the 'Oppad', a nice hiking trail in the neighbouring village 'Kortenhoef'. I used Outdoor-gps, but might fall back on osm-tracker because with Outdoor-gps one doesn't seem to be able to input poi's.

The path is very muddy and wet after a lot of rain (which was the case today). isn't there a way of tagging that? I couldn't find it in the Dutch feature list. Maybe I'm going to post that question on the Dutch forum.

Hello all. I stumbled across the OSM project almost by mistake. I provide technical support for survey grade GPS in the Central New York region. I have a NTRIP RTK setup with 10mm accuracy, but I'm unfamiliar with the data/data collection formats(?) being used on the project. Can I use the software I'm familiar with and export it to a file type that would be of use to the project?
