I have just joined the OSM Community and my goal for 2009 is Medellin. I hope to find more contribuitors to the cause.
I can´t believe the city is covered less than 0.1%.
Hab über die Festtage zwei neue angefixed :)
Hallo,

I'm back in London after a good Christmas holiday. I managed to progress the Holmfirth map a little bit, but perhaps more importantly I managed to teach my Dad to edit the map... maybe. It feels a little bit touch and go whether he will manage to master the technicalities of it after I've gone. It does look as though he will have the enthusiasm to go out and gather some more traces some time soon, so then hopefully he will be forced to remind himself how to edit some time in the near future. So the hope is that it will turn out like the "Teach a man to fish" proverb, except it's "teach a dad to map". This has also given me some ideas for things to explain differently in the Beginners Guide, and also some little things which could be more newbie friendly in JOSM.
I did a quick bit of mapping in Leeds, adding some bits to the little suburb of Chapel Allerton. Why is it that yahoo has no aerial imagary of this the UK's 5th biggest city? If anyone's experimenting with rocket/kite/balloon photography, this would be a good place to do it. In the meantime the Leeds community is doing an admirable job of mapping the city centre without it. Likewise in sheffield. I was able to just use the map while I was visiting there, which is always nice.
So back in London now, and it's the first London meet-up of 2009 on Wednesday.
osm.org/?lat=44.6008&lon=8.9936&zoom=14&layers=0B00FTF
osm.org/?lat=44.4812&lon=9.0513&zoom=13&layers=0B00FTF
osm.org/?lat=44.4746&lon=9.0385&zoom=14&layers=00B0FTF

was ich hier bearbeite:
München, hauptsächlich Bogenhausen und davon hauptsächlich Oberföhring und Johanneskirchen, dazu Unterföhring
Take some time to walk through my youth ;-)
I have been working on this highway
For the last days I've been cross-country skiing in Vestmarka, enjoying outdoors and activity while collecting GPS data for OSM. Most ski pistes are in place, but need more snow in lower areas before visiting the remaining tracks. It can be seen on the Osmarender layer.

Today I edited again the same area as a few days back. Hopefully the area is nearly complete now.
Did some data gathering in the same area I did a few days back to fill up some gaps. At one point I lost my GPS! Fortunately I foud it a few 100 m back laying on the middle of the way..
Got a notice about an error nearby where I live, so when I had to go for a ride, I started my GPS to record a track. You can see it here:
osm.org/user/Anders%20Lund/traces/287044
To cover the three roads I wanted to, I had to drive three times, one time getting on to the highway. My Nokia N95 performed way better than I would have hoped and it was 'fun' to do.
Other than that, I have translated some more Wiki and fixing some errors reported at OpenStreetBug:

Done as much mapping as possible over new year in Walberswick, Suffolk. There is still quite a bit to be done in the village but it's starting to look ok. Quite a few residential streets need adding in, and there are rather a lot of unmapped footpaths to be added. The neighboring town of Southwold needs quite a lot of attention, and is considerably larger than OSM suggests.
Started Saturday morning on my drive from north of Narvik to Oslo. And to get a steady winter-road instead of snow and ice, I drove into Sweden again and down via the E45.
And I got a steady winter. -30C almost all the way through Sweden. Pretty cold when refueling in just a t-shirt....
But for the mapping, there should now be an uploaded track from my drive north. And another one for my drive south. They are both with a resolution of a log-point every 1 second.
That should give some good points to work over the existing E45-track, which in some bends and turns seems to be pretty rough.
I don't have the time to do that myself (it's alot of turns and bends in 1600km).
,
I am new.
Today I edit Sfax, Tunisia
I dropped in on the in-laws on 30th December 2007. Before visiting, I noticed that the area hadn't been mapped yet. My brother-in-law has a (now) antique Garmin GPS 45XL so we arranged to spend the afternoon mapping some of the area. We hadn't accounted for the fact that the temperature would drop to -4 degrees Celcius so it turned out to be a very short but enjoyable bit of mapping.
Back at my in-laws with a nice hot cup of coffee we spent a couple of interesting hours trying to download, massage and upload data from the GPS. Thankfully we got there in the end. Our first contribution! The trace was a bit wobbly and I'm still not sure whether that's to be expected or whether the GPS device is old. Will investigate.
The afternoon was excellent fun and it was great to map Sandacre Road (my company's namesake). Plenty more to be done in that area and looking forward to it ... :o)
Spent a week visiting bright and the surrounds.
Can highly recommend riding your bike up mount buffalo 20km of constant climbing rewarded with 20km of descent. Falls creek is a much easier ride as the up is broken up with lots of little downs.
Also did a few walks on mount buffalo. Also very nice.
